 how?

Jonno :cool:Unless the numerical position of the letter of the alphabet comes into the equation, and I really can't be arsed with working that out, I have no idea.

Btw:

The pets bit; if for each pet (cats and dogs) they had those other animals (birds, goldfish and mice) - then surely they would constitute pets too.

This makes the total number = ∞

Good point, altho I just tried that and got 5338, leaving 3650 unacounted for :frusty:

This is starting to annoy me now

tis impossible. for every pet they have 25 more pets. that means they have infinite pets :dabs:

Jon L. Obscene
09-02-2005, 05:39 PM
Yeah I know, I worked that one out too so it has to be different, I'm going with the roman numerals atm cos it makes sense with what they guy said about letters can be numbers.

But I'm not quite getting there, altho I have a very very thin theory

Ok

vdvdmdcvddidmic

In roman using the first v as 5000 (normally in roman it would have a line above it) and adding the rest to it you come up with 10207, now if you take the 12 and the 19 and put them together to make 1219, then subtract 1219 from 10207 you end up with 8988 and the other numbers are just there to confuse you :01:

What ya fink?
