i am thinking to get a psp however i am hearing that different firware versions (1.5, 1.52, 2.0, 2.5 etc) support different things. wat i would like to know no matter wat version it is can u play downloaded games on them?

well if your going to buy a psp, i believe there is a thread containing the information you want, but you should get a psp with firmware of 1.5, 1.52, 2.0 all of those can play downloaded games, but for 1.52 you must upgrade to 2.0 and then downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 read some of the other psp threads in our games section, one of em tells how to tell which firmware the psp u buy has before you open it

where is it from? the japanese wont run games from here and you'll have to ask for version 1.5 to 2.0 . 2.5 wont run homebrew.

I dont tihnk so. The japanese firmware works on the psps here.

Why dont you look on a good forum that has buy/sell/trade sections.

not a hurry but before feb the 14th, preferably a white giga one that is 1.5 or 2.0. so the jap one dont play uk games huh? thats annoying. thanx for help all da same

I didnt know you were in the uk. use google, I know the jap movies wont owrk on the psps here. I dont know if UK and Jap use the same encoding. you'll have to check on google.

im pretty sure japanese psps work here caz many ppl ordered them from japan when psp came out to get the white one plus they use same umds and memory disks so i think itll work but Im Not SURE

PSP games work on any PSP its the UMD movies that are locked u will need a PSP with FW 1.5 to 2.0 to fully have Homebrew but there is a eBoot loader for 2.01+
