anyone know of any other way to get bin files other than k-lite or emule. On k-lite they always come out currupt and emule is just to slow. On emule i have downloaded 14.00 Mb of ut2003 in trhee days and I have DSL.
Any ftp or web sites that have games would be greatly appreciated.

eMule takes a little bit of time, yes. But it takes more time if you aren't sharing or if you aren't sharing at a decent speed.

DirectConnect has games on it, although it usually takes longer than eMule, because you only get one source for each file.

bittorrent

That's all i use now for games, tv and movies. Very reliable, relatively quick, and painfully simple to use. I'm just fed up with Kazaa. Files are either corrupt (nearly all games, and don't give me the verifieds crap because i NEVER get a download when i click on them, just a permanent 'more sources needed'), or fake, or take too long to download. I have broadband and don't expect something to take a week (or longer!) to download with no guarantee it will work. I still use kazaa for music and smaller files, but it's just not suited for big stuff anymore. Too many leechers also. I really think it's the beginning of the end for kazaa in it's current state. :(

im having a drunken rant...but here it goes....

kl= fast as hell... but its a gamble, expect to download the same file twice and mix n mach the corrupt/correct bits (bit like woolworths really ).... bittorent is reletively fast....and u get what u pay for ( im in a huff due to me last d/l).... and e- mule is far too slow......but if u r after a specific game and u r willing to wait a day or 2.......the choice is yours....you r young...but you will learn.....(what movie/ad is that from lol )

for bittorents i suggest suprnova.org its all explained there

as for another way to get games or anything like movies, music i use overnet

i have dl speed set to 0

upload speed set to 12kbs

and i download alot of files at once so im usually dling at 200kb/sec +

thats the best way to do it, its faster then the mule, and its worth the wait for a correct working game

I still think eMule is your best bet for games. Make sure you have a good server.met file, as well as several good server URL's in your adresses.dat file (yes, they spell it wrong). Then when you start the program, sort the servers by Ping and connect to the lowest one (as long as it has a fair number of files). Also make sure you have your upload limit set to at least 80% of the maximum speed your ISP allows. It's still going to take a while, but they have a wide selection of games and they usually work right (as long as you've downloaded the correct language version ;) ). Just remember, you're getting them for free.

As for bitTorrent, I think it's a great system for fast downloads, but unfortunately there aren't very many files to choose from. And I'm not sure how well it handles error correction.

I personaly prefer OVERNET its better than Emule and thingz
Not as fast as Kazaa tho!
But resonably there is also alot of files to choose from and i have not got 1 currupted yet?

bittorrent is great for like tv series, whole music cds and some games and very fast and reliable because once it finds a corruption it goes to a diff source and never saves the corrupted files. So u never get a corrupt file. Although it has many leechers, but the community is always willling to reseed files if needed.

...u never get a corrupt file.
I'm not so sure about that. The first thing I downloaded with bitTorrent was an episode of Enterprise, and it had some minor audio glitches. It was barely noticable, but sometimes they would skip over a word or two. I don't know if the original file was like that, or if it got that way from being pasted together from multiple sources. Anyone else notice this?

well my bittorrent is a slow as hell, and myne isnt even working at the moment, ADSL 512, and i have been downloading episode 20 of 24 for the past 15 hours which would normally take 2 hours through kazaa. so blow that, as hard as jenna.

with bittorrent u also have to keep into account that some files will be rare, that and omg if u dont have a tracker ur screwed. Because the first 3-4days a torrent is out its dl-ed like crazy, then after that ppl dont keep the gui open and thus losing dl availlability. games seem to dissappear in 2days, so u always have to keep up on new releases if ur gonna dl torrents. But say ur downloading some tv series from a month ago ur gonna have a tough time doing so because by then most torrents are dead. Like ive been dling most of the roswell episodes, and been getting them all, but i missed out on a couple of the first episode before i found out about bittorrent. But i cant download them because they are now dead torrents, or dead till some1 is asked to reseed them. most my torrents dl at 75-150kb because i get them as soon as they come out. So if u want to be on top of the game, u got to stay updated and give up on those files that were released awhile ago because they are gone.

also if the torrent u downloaded wasnt the quality u wanted thats the releasers fault, they released the shitty torrent, but ive yet to come across a shitty torrent yet. Music torrents dissappear really fast, but most tv series stay open for some time.

and kazaa ur more likely to get a messed up avi file just because thats how kazaa is, it jumps supernodes, and u cant do anything about taht. Ive downloaded movies over and over again on kazaa lite because they keep having corruptions that u cant fix, so thats y i resort to other p2p networks.

although kazaa is great for somethings, just not really really big files.

What are some of the good sites to get bittorent links from??
I found a good anime one. Which you can access here (http://www.animesuki.com). I found that one off the official site.

If you guys do have more links to good bittorent sites, please reply here. IF these is considered spamming, I think I'll gather all of it on a HTML file so you guys can download it off me.
But first, remember to contribute to the LINKS.

Check this Thread (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=40&t=19846) for more BT links.

btw, after reading through some of these posts...

BT has great error-correction. It's sort of like EMule's, if it doesn't match up witht the original source/tracker your getting it from, then it will re-download it.

It's also true that you must stay at the top of your game and try and always be one of the first to download the torrent when it first hits sites.

Also, BT is NOT for leechers. It forces you to share even with the incomplete... a little like Emule. The reason it disappears so quickly because many people don't bother re-opening the BT client for that file. A reason could be that they're off downloading another file and using that upload bandwidth for the users of that file.

Any glitches or similar is from the person that uploaded the torrent.

BT does have Ps2 rips. It has just about everything if you find the right sites.

Overnet is Emule/Edonkey but with more of a Kazaa type feel to it.

Check out http://www.sharereactor.com and at the top right of the page, there's a link to it.

btw, I think it's http://www.overnet.com

i decided to give bittorrent a try last night and this morning i'm still looking at 500+ hours estimated time to download freelancer. i got the link from supernova. i dont know what the deal is, i'm on cable. i've read a bunch of posts about how fast bittorrent is and so far i have to say i dont agree.

Did you happen to read the parts about getting the files fast, right when it's released?

It will be slow if you try getting older torrents. Remember, BT is a p2p program, but it only works well when it's newly released.

btw, I just check suprnova.org and Freelancer was released quite a while ago... Click the Reseed option and hopefully your speeds will go up so they can put another copy out for you to upload from.

Yes overnet is the main p2p that i use but there are so many p2p out there heres my lil list. I use overnet the most becuase i dl at 150-200 most the time and leave it at 12kb upload. Im also downloadin several files at once usually 20+ files, but if ur downloading just one game i average around 30-50kbs. Also check out direct connect.

sites for u to check out

www.overnet.com <-- get the gui
www.sharereactor.com <-- good place to get dl links to add to overnet
http://forums.sharereactor.com <-- excellent place to search for files that dont make it to the front page but are released
jigle.com <-- finding ed2k links, also used in overnet.

www.suprnova.org <--- get bittorent gui off a link at that site, then just search for games, music, movies anime torrents or anything off google or alltheweb.com, ur bound to find good sites sharing torrents.
http://www.torrentlinks.com/ <-- good links for torrents
http://torrents.slash0.org <-- good torrent downloading site
http://torrentse.cx/ <-- good torrent downloading site

http://www.neo-modus.com/ link to get direct connect <-- its good if u have a lot of gigs to share, but if not u wont dl very fast. cause u wouldnt be able to get into the good hubs. ANd ur cant hold many ques. but i dont use dc much, others might help u out more with that p2p network

http://doa2.host.sk/ <-- get kazaalite if u dont already have it, no spyware and its really fast cause u have 1000master rank. Only thing i hate about kazaa is its a jumpy network and most files end up missing pieces and end up being corrupt files and u dont know it.

best site for games, music,tv series, movies would be sharereactor, but overnets a lil slow sometimes

second id go to suprnova for any thing formentioned

then lastly id go to kazaa lite, its fast but not reliable files

i found a good anime torrent site

here it is, hope it has what ur lookin for
http://www.animetorrents.com/bittorrent/new/
http://www.animesuki.com/torrents.php

ps. i left out one of the biggest file sharing programs irc, but only because ive never used it and never really need to, just never could get it to work but heres a site to check out if ur a irc pro

www.ircspy.com

then theres always ftp hheeh
