Hey,

Is there any way I can keep the eBooks I borrow from my public library's digital library? Although I only recently downloaded my first eBook from the digital library, they say that the eBook will automatically delete itself when it's due (in 21 days).

Is there any way to prevent the eBook from expiring?

Thanks in advance!

You need to identify the type of ebook for there are many types. (pdf, lit, palm-reader, etc)

If it's microsoft reader (*.LIT), do a websearch on a command line program called convert-LIT.

Thanks for the replies.

The eBooks are in PDF and MobiReader (.PRC) format.

The PDF should be easy enough, copy the text from the PDF there's a tool for doing that, then paste it into another format e.g. txt document or word document. You can then read it on your PDA that way, or use one of the free readers available.

You can also download free converters to change the txt document to a PRC if it's and older PDA and it can't cope with straight txt files.

In fact you should also be able to do the same with the PRC files. Just convert them to txt files for reading. Or make a new PRC out of the txt file you create.

I hope that makes a modicum of sense.
