best way of burning avi files for dvd

hey guys new to the site here. whats the best way to encode avi files for dvd? I currently use nero but it takes forever to encode ??

I like DIKO, it's pretty easy to use.

It's normal for the encoding to take a long time though...

i found this guide yesterday after looking for an answer to the same question:
