Splinter Cell Patch

I have the splinter cell-FLT version and I can't get past mission two because of the laser mic problem. The patch is supposed to fix this problem but when I go to install it a window comes up saying "can't get version number, instalation is aborted" is this because of the no-cd crack that I had to put on or just what?? Can anybody give me any other ideas please!!

Try uninstalling the game then reinstalling and then patch it before you apply any cracks to it and it should work.
It did for me
