btw, Blood Money is great. it'll last you a week or two. (Try to obtain several kinds of code names on levels... Silent Assassin, Psychopath, Terrorist, etc)

Elder scrolls is GREAT! The lack of multiplayer though makes it a boring after you beat the game!

Half Life 2:Episode 1 didn't impressed me.. So much darkness that can easy compete doom 3!

Oblivion is indeed great, but don't bother unless you're prepared to sink a decent amount of time in it.

I loved HL2: Ep 1 (possibly the most impressive game I've ever played, and IMO nicer looking than Oblivion too), but it's over all too soon.

good rpg. Beat it twice with different types of characters. Barbarian and Druid. Loved how Druid could morph into a wolf. Made him blood thirsty fast with charges.
Never did any multiplayer though.

Dungeon Siege is also really good. Might check out the 2nd one.

Played 2003 in the past. That game can literally take hours trying to find deer. Wonder what 2005's differences are. I'm not a huge Deer Hunter fan, but it has some potential. Personally, I wish it had some RPG element to it...sort of like Harvest Moon, but Hunting instead of Farming. That'd be a great game.

WOW! Elder Scrolls Oblivion feckin PWNS all RPGs!
Feels like Grand Theft Auto has really influenced all game designerss out there and now I official claim this game to be... A FREE-TO-EXPLORE RPG! Highly recommend it to ones who wanna see what an RPG+GTA looks like.
Hah, I'm guessing GTA4 is going to probably do something similar...with URBAN shiaaat though.

Just tried Tycoon City: New York and BOY DID IT LAAAAAG. The animations skipped constantly, the ambience was very limited (heard some girls say "SHUT-UP! Are you serious?" atleast 30 times within 10 minutes.) The Buildings have NO CLIPPING, so your constantly GOING THROUGH them...
It's been a LONG time since a game actually lagged on my machine THIS BAD, but CRAP I couldn't even enjoy it. The details and gameplay looked KINDA fun, but when the Lighting changed from Day to Night, my FPS went to 1-3. TES: Oblivion never even went below 28 on very high res/settings.

The game experience is a lot Different in multiplayer. In Single player you just play to beat AI. IN Multi you are competing against real players and that makes the game more interesting.
With single player i get bored once i finish the game. But when it comes to multiplayer, you put your skills into real test! :)
Thats why MMORPGs have so much success!

I just wish i could get rid of my goddamn router! It will simply not allow me to play online. I get disconnected every 5 minutes! I can't even play warcraft anymore! :(

had the same problem with a Semens Router 3 years ago.
Get one of the latest Linksys ones. I use a Linksys Gigabyte switch and the damn thing works wonderful. Never had even ONE disconnect yet...and it's been freakin 6 months!!! It's the first to hold my connection even since I bought it.

the recent versions of outrun (outrun 2 and outrun 2006) are wonderful. i imagine most people would hate them and think the game is too simple & the controls are too frustrating. sure it doesn't give you a million extra modes & it isn't realistic at all, the graphics aren't the most detailed ever... but the overall visual design is really pleasing, and underneath the sunny graphics it's still a serious racing game requiring a lot of concentration & practice. the controls are really precise, and once you figure out how to drive correctly in the game (i.e. which curves require drifting, how to maneuver mid-drift, etc) it's a pretty pure test of skill -- either you drive well or you lose. anyway, i love it.

however i do prefer the way items unlock in outrun 2, as opposed to outrun 2006 requiring you to grind for "outrun miles" (like RPG experience points) to purchase stuff.



i just 100%-ed castlevania dawn of sorrow. it was okay, but all of the stuff (monsters, castle design, music) just seemed like a recycling of the gba castlevanias. and i kind of hated the way the developer tried to artificially extend the playing time by asking the player to grind (LIKE IN A FRICKIN RPG) for the same power-ups over & over again (in order to upgrade them and to upgrade weapons). "now you can collect 10 of every power-up!" like uh no, fuck off, i don't have pokemon fever... i want a game to challenge me with variety, not ask me to become a button-pressing zombie. maybe i will play the unlocked julius belmont mode someday (it's supposed to be a tribute to castlevania III, has a few weapons but doesn't use power-ups) and maybe it'll be better than the main mode. i certainly hope the next castlevania ds game will be better than this one was.

i have been playing a bit of guild wars and a lot of world of warcraft. i'm not really much of an RPG fan, but both of these games are incredibly well-designed as far as online RPGs go.

world of warcraft has lovely artistic direction, it's just fun to look around & see how much care has been put into the models/landscapes/textures/etc. and its gameplay is solid & brisk, despite having its fair share of traditional MMO time-sinks (stuff that you know has no other purpose besides distracting you & slowing you down in order to keep you from racing to the end of the game, and to keep you subscribing for months & months).

guild wars has decent visuals, but i think the combat (before WoW lets you have access to level 60+ raids anyway) is a bit more strategic & challenging than WoW's combat, and the fact that each character can play 2 classes simultaneously... it's more interesting/engaging overall. and the synch-up between experience points & quest progression is better -- it's almost transparent. you spend a few hours running quests in a region then, by the time you've completed the most significant quests, your character has enough experience & money to move to the next region. it doesn't give you so much experience/loot that your character outgrows the quests & they stop being challenging, and it doesn't give you so little exp/loot that you have to "grind" (walk around & kill random monsters for experience points) in order to prepare for the next region. experience & progress are so finely tuned in guild wars that you never really need to think about them.
