This release brings a significant speed increase to the majority of games, this is due to a complete rewrite of the EE and VU recompilers. Various other improvements have increased compatibility with games, you will be able to check your game against the included compatibility list, which lists nearly 1000 titles (Please note at time of release list is not guaranteed 100% accurate).

Whilst the new recompilers are a major improvement, the recompilers are not 100% accurate at present, this may result in a number of broken games.

A further release will be created in the future enhancing upon the overall compatibility of the new recompilers. This is part of a new release schedule, where we plan to be releasing more frequently; however, do not make requests for releases or ask when such a release will be produced.....

wow i was able to play Resident Evil 4 in this emu, although it was only 20 FPS, still i was amazed.

edit: also got 53fps in one part of FFX (image file). Yeah they've made some good progress over the past month. But this is still far from perfect ;)

What are the hardware requirements for this thing?

Vamp

And how would I go about running games? Just pop a a game into my drive?

does the emulation have any slow downs or does it work properly?

@fifth_horseman - You basically need a modern age computer that can handle current PC games, such as an nvidia FX 5500/Radeon 9200 video card, and most importantly you need a good cpu that can handle current games aswell, such as a Pentium 4 2.2ghz or an Athlon xp...Dont expect your pentium 3 processor or integrated graphics card run this emulator (while running a game) smoothly.......These arent the recommended but somewhere around the minimum requirements. The better specs your pc has, the more smoothly and likely the emulator will function properly..

@Vamp - Yeh you can just put the game's cd/dvd in your drive or make an ISO of the game on your harddrive. Be sure to configure it first.

@NikRulez - Yeah there are slow downs and alot of good games dont work, the developers of this emu (emulator) are still actively developing it as we speak.

i also recommend checking out the official forum

I got Smackdown vs Raw to boot up but it crashes when a match starts, before that I get about 20fps on my 1800xt.

Set up couldn't be simpler, I reccommend people get the bios files et al from their nearest friendly public torrent site.

PS2 emulation basically depends on you CPU power. If you have dual core processor you can run games more smoother. You can even get 200fps with it in FFX.

Wrong. (http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/314464/PS2_Bios_Pack_with_ROM1_BIN)

I got FFX working last night, with a bit of tweaking I should be able to get a decent framerate (currently averging 20 fps).

Man i downloaded FFX, prepared everything i start the game but after a few seconds it crashes and i get that annoying error that tells me to notify Microsoft etc.
I tried to see how much FPS i can get during those seconds, and i could get 27-60+.

I tried restarting my pc just in case the problem is solved but nothing :(

Dude you will need a super computer to get a decent number of FPS.
Heres an example: My PC's specs: 1GB Ram (2x512) P4 3.0Ghz and PCI express 6600GT DDR3 with 3.0 Pixel shader support.

I have only played FFX, i can get 200+FPS on main menu and generally out of the game! I can barely get 26FPS in game though. The game is slow even with very low resolution and FFX hack turned off. I experiense freezes during battles and on cutscenes.

However i heard that if you have a dual core processor you can get really high fps in game. Aproximatly 36-128!
People on Great systems such as 1GB RAM dual core processor 1.8Ghz, 2.5Ghz and 7series nvidia cards manage to even get 70 fps average!
