Hi everyone! I have tried to search for softwares in emule, and have found many, but the download is unbelievably slow...It is not as fast as limewire, though limewire can find fewer matches/files. Please help. Thanks.

first you should understand how emule works!
if you use emule you shouldnt expect to download soon,first you should wait, because there are alot of people who want same file from same sources so all of you would be in queue
what effect queue?
most important factor is credit files, i couldnt tell you details but i could say you should have high credit counts.
how can i make higher my credits?
yous should host what you downloaded and make a lot of upload ,higher upload rates = higher credit
Server is important?
if you want to find more sources via servers you should connect most populars,this doesnt effects your rate directly but this effects your sources count dramatically,if you have more source you can start download quickly with highest rates
other things
One of the last thing is high id,if you want to take high id in servers you should open your ports,how can you open ports?please search in forum or google there are tons of sources about opening ports.

If you download faster with limewire and if you find whatever you want, you dont have to use emule, it is a bit complex software.

Your Queue Rank is determined by the following:

QR = WT X F
F = 2 X Up you ever made to that source / Down ever made from that source

WT = waiting time
F = factor [1-10]

You can see that the most important is the waiting time, so it's better to let you emule runing as long as you can.

Rule of thumb : (in a non-technical way) :P

eMule/ed2k Network
* has the rarest of rare files..
* is pretty slow when compared to torrents..

You just can't have the best of both worlds, can you?

Simply forward ports, connect to a popular server, and shaaaaare your ass off. I remember when i started using Emule for rare files, it was a pain! But after a while speeds went up to 50kbs and sometimes its been up to 100kbs, which is what I get for torrents. Patience is key!

You could use something else to connect to edonkey2000 network, emule and its clones arn't very fast. Most important in emule is that u look if a file is complete on e2k network and most of files arn't, if its complete u see 100%, if not less than 100% and if its 99% or less complete it ain't complete and u will never download it(rarly u would).

Run your mule 24/7. Thats the classic way of using emule efficiently.
As stated above, if you want speed, use bittorrent, if you want the rare stuff, use emule.

although, if you first started on bittorrent and are just now discovering emule, you'll find it hard to adjust to the speeds and the whole principle. luckily, i started the other way around and have the patience to make the best of it.

if you got a slow dl rate you have to use a leecher mod like me. ı've got 256kbps/32kbps. so i'm using the mod called death abgel based on xtreme 47.a it really works. and ıf u got a high speed connection use the offical client. upload with your full speed at least 2 days. the you'll get the maximum speed. bu be careful with sources. download et least 20 files at same time.

good luck:)

You should get your fingers cut off by saying you use a leecher mod, thats one of the reasons why emule is slow. ;)

Thats all very well, but when you have ISP bandwidth caps, and don't know who is uploading from you (I used to get lots of letters via Universal Studios:sick: ) Paranoia starts to set in

You don't get credits then. Thats really going to speed up your download.

its slow but i agree there are things you can't get anywhere else. emule is a great way we can share our entire hardrive for all to download. its sharing in its true form. but if you see someone downloading a rare file off you, what i do is buddy and give a friend slot. i don't do that for popular files.

Perhaps, you have chosen the file whose availability is low to download.

I always pick up the file that availability is over 200 at least to dl.

LOL! It is a "mule" what do you expect? It may be slow, but it usually gets the job done....just like a real life mule.

Yeah thats the problem with emule, but then, theres stuff you can only get there (rare stuff). If you dont need something rare you're really better off joining a torrent community.

If u use it right: open ports, share at descent upspeed, then it can be surprisingly fast

Also i have noticed that my isp caps its speed, same as with torrents. But luckily only when there is a lot of traffic, so at night and during the day it works fine, but at evening i just get low id and stuff. And with torrents it is capped to 60-80k... Took me some time to figure out it was my isp, so maybe its that?
