That's probably not good. Always check the file size of what you're downloading. Music .mp3's 3 minutes long usually are 3-4MB.

Just try downloading from different sources on Limewire...oh...Are you using Peerguardian? Try that out, connect to Limewire see what it blocks.

That's my idea.

This is usually for files concerning iTunes.

Also some files called can you affored $0.09? have the same behavior.

Check the file's description, if it says that is a sponsors result or something like that, it will probably sent you to one of those sites.

It looks like Limewire is at an end. RIAA warns Limewire to cease and desist.

http://www.gameshout.com/news/092005/article1223.htm

But then you know how it is, one shutdowns, 20 more are made. :-)

LimeWire is just a client, not a network, how can RIAA warn a program. The Gnutella network won't shut down if the client of Gnutella network such as LimeWire don't exsist anymore. There are at least 300 clients for Gnutella.

If you want mp3s, go to the MP2P network. They have a lot of Western songs, but not many eastern or less well known songs.

Maybe you got one of those limewire spinoffs tha look just like it but say you have to pay 1$ song. Or you got adware or what the other guy was saying you downloaded an mp3 or html that loads up internet firefox or whatever you have and tries to get you to buy the song. Theres alot of crud on limewire music videos that load up porn websites and other stuff

I get the same thing, and it's maddening.

Here are the symptoms:

1. The file is about the right size to be what I'm looking for (between 300 and 700 MB for a full-length feature).
2. It has the right sort of title and claims to be an avi, mpg, or other video type.
3. There are many, many users for each file (up to 200 sometimes).
4. There are several copies of several different titles.
5. I get 8000 to 14000 results in a single search.
6. When I click to download, I'm sent to a media-selling page.

No matter how many times I repeat the search, I can't seem to get a single file to show up that doesn't send me to this site. Near as I can guess, the company who owns the site decided to invent a malicious way to advertise their business. Somehow they figured out a way to flood the net with thousands of fake files which act as links to their website and whenever a person searches for a particularly popular title, these links show up instead. I think limewire is so overwhelmed with these fake files that it stops searching before it ever finds a real file.

Any suggestions for this dilemma?

just check the filesize. If its a song thats hard to find and you find it with 100 sedders dont downlaod it. its probally a scam.

Why even use Limewire anymore!!!?? You are wasting precious time, man. If you want movies, tv shows, games....Get a Bittorrent client (bittornado, utorrrent). Limewire is a pain in the ass....SHEEESH.

Later.

Well said man. Although DC++ would do the job or soulseek. I still can't believe people can't let go of limewire.

I would suggest bearshare people. I use it now and again and speedwise its all the same.:)

Theres some mp3 files when you download them using Limewire and open them, it starts some random blabbing about 'fellow americans' or some sh!te. They seem to be all the same file size though, so I've managed to stay clear of them for a canny while now.
