Hi, i am not after filesharing such as kazaa etc, but a file sharing programme i can use on my home network. I was using network magic but it has become unreliable and windows own file sharing is not the greatest.

Has anybody got any suggestions of free programmes to save me the misery of copying to memory stick then onto the other pc? Thanks

The built in Windows file sharing works fine. What's the problem you're having with it?

well the windows one seems to play a glorified game of hide and seek. for example, the computers can not find each other. The domain name is the same etc, different computer names and such but still no joy.

1.start>run>cmd(enter)>ipconfig(enter)
do this on each pc, if you dont know each pc's ip address, write both down

2.start>run>cmd(enter)>ping xxx.xx.x.x(ip address)
ping one pc from the other, then do the same on the next

You should receive a reply, if not check you firewall/router settings. Make sure you check windows firewall too.
