you're using public sites, you're not going to get good speeds most of the time.

make sure you've got good settings:
http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Good_settings

and that you've got your ports properly forwarded:
http://portforward.com/

edit: also make sure you have protocol encryption enabled in the azureus options.

Try using private trackers, speeds will fly:w00t:

after you get everything configured, you can try testing the setup by downloading an openoffice torrent:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/

your speeds should be very high, they've got alot of dedicated seeders and servers seeding the torrents.

private message yah i got dee dee , i sent 1 to u panther
ya your all right i can play with the settings and get the speed up a little but ill poabably never really get up 100 kb/sec using public trackers. and downloading and uploading 5 files at a time wont help either. not that im trying to exploit the program but when your the only one between all your budies with broad, band well i try to be nice. I was wondering if u wanted to be lazy about it if that Azbot (i think thats what its called) would configure everything for. thnx to everyone againg for all your help;)

what do you mean by a 4 gb? go do a speedtest and post it here.
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ seems to be a popular one.

and yeah, private trackers will put your speeds through the roof, but you have to seed back. how do you think you get good speeds in the first place? (hint - everyones seeding)

Yes, thats a good point kavalchuk17. Make sure you (nolan57) don't go download crazy and that you can upload back. From there, everything is great:D

Look into the invite section if you have not already, there are many members that can give you some free invites to some decent trackers.

on the homapega under site navigation is a BT Invites Section button, that will lead you directly to the right place

edit: also check your email: there might be some goodies there...

Newsgroups are nothing like torrents. Only similiarities would be you can find rar files or files in question on either. You can find good speeds on either. But the methods used to get on both networks if you will are nothing alike.

You could also try turning the encryption on in your client.
Or switch to a client like Utorrent. AZ in my opinion is nothing more than a peice of junk resource hog.
