can anyone verify that a shadow experimental version of bittorrent is the fastest bittorrent clients and can download 700mb video files in minutes, i've heard rumors of this but just wanted to get people's opinions on this??

nope. the speed of downloading depends 99% on your connection 1% on your client.

you can never download under any circumstances faster than your connection is because you are limited from the server...if ppl's connections wouldn't be limited or have a bandwidth of their own it would be chaos...i know this coz i tried it and i was taking the bandwidth of another 10 guys:lol:

Yea plus you can't DL faster than your peers are uploading. As for the "shadow" part, it sounds interesting but I don't think it can be accomplished with just a new BT client. Maybe you were thinking of some FTP sites?

shad0w's is very outdated. it's now being developed as the bittornado client:

re-read the second sentence in my post.

if you're using a version that's branded shad0w's, you're using code that's at least two years old.

edit: my memory is bad, but I think 5.8.7 was as high as it went. so it's three years old at this point.

That client is older than dust. One of the things that made that client popular back in the day I beleive it was one of the first clients that let you throttle your upload/download limits on the files as apposed to leaving them at the defaults. EX: max outgoing for this file send at 30k
