Last bit means something about love, anyways :ermm:

I'll have a wee think.

What language is it, my guess is Russian but I know feck all about languages.

I'm not sure actually, where did you get it?

It's definitely of that family.

The problem is that if someone wrote it out phonetically, like, it might not match any standard I know.

And yet another problem is that stuff like Bosnian and Russian are like different dialects of the same thing, in some respects.

My friend had something about his girlfriend in Bosnian on msn, it said something about his "darling", only I thought it said "loves".

Having a look through my russian textbook, but it uses cyrrylic letters, which means a bit of thinking since it has been quite a while.

Zhenya is a name, I think.

Linguistic detective :smilie4: hawt.

Snee

I'm up to ... Zhenya you ...

the problem is that Llubya might be a name, and Pazdra can be a last name.

So the only thing I'm sure of is тебя :ermm:
And one word is not enough to determine the language.
Maybe if I knew the context.

Still thinking tho', maybe something pops out at me.

Vlayua might be a croatian name, or something :pinch:
Tried googling :dabs:

The only context I have is that it's his birthday and that it was from his Mother in Law. Please don't waste loads of time on this, I just thought you might know given your cunning linguistic skills.

Asking a Bosnian friend now, he hasn't got anymore of a clue than I.
He knows some russian too, his dad even more, and he thought it might be that.

TBH, now I'll be getting back to this off and on for ages, 'cos it feels so familar, like I should know it.

I figured it was something about love from the word "lubya" :yup:

Snee

I thought czech for a bit too, but now I'm thinking croatian.

If my little sister turns up, I'll try and have her check whether it's czech, she's got a friend who lives there.

Lyublu in russian :01:

But I've seen a russian chick using Llubya as her nick, which might mean that it's a name, or that she called herself "darling", or something.

Almost there, surely.

I seriously think that Snee is about to get a raging clue.

I absolutely love this place, thanks a lot Snee and his assistants.

This is what she sent

znomre zhenya tebya pazdra vlayu llubya, znomre zhenya tebya pazdra vlayu llubya, znomre zhenya Frank, znomre zhenya tebya pazdra vlayu llubya.

I think she thinks she's singing "happy birthday" to Frank.

Update.

An English chap, who was married to a Ukranian was singing it and Frank's Mam in law wrote it down, phonetically. I think you suggested as much Snee.

That's worse than the feckin' DaVinci code.

Awesomely done chaps. What a fucking team.

Ugh, I can't watch him doing the excavations. Dull dull dull.

Has he ever found or said anything interesting in the non-descript English fields in which he dwells.

He's found an unusually successful television show which allows him to indulge in his not entirely fascinating hobby, which Channel 4 continue to fund.

He once said he had a thingy shaped exactly like a turnip. That was quite interesting.

I never watch that Ground Force thing, so I couldn't possibly comment. Other than to say it's total shite.
