whats up with all these torrent sites being attacked lately?

torrentbytes got hit, pisexy got hit, now ftn... is this a new mpaa/riaa tactic?

Yeah, what is going on with FTN? It's really unstable - I mean, I get errors or (the server load is full, retrying..) now and then.

This is from the FTN news/announcements:

FTN As port 80 is under DDOS attack, be sure to use https to browse the site.

The tracker is now available at port 81 as well as on 80 and torrents you download now will have port 81 set in them. So, until those DDOS kiddies start attacking port 81, redownloading a .torrent file should do the trick to get connected to the tracker again.

Update: Attacks have ceased.
Update: the kiddies have resumed their attack again :-/

I have no clue about what DDOS is our whatever, but these little nerds need to stop.

Have heard teories about that as well. SCC was also attacked and had to revert to a week old backup. All the sites I have heard of have been mainly torrentsites for scenereleases.
