I was thinking a power user section of this forum might be a good idea. A lot of scammers and whatnot keep finding their way back into the invites section (like bor74).

I was thinking we could have a power user board with some stricter requirements, like +10 trades and joined 6 months ago to get in. We would have a lot less stupid posts of ppl trying to trade TD and TL for FTN. What do you think?

I think BT invite section is a power user section.

Definately not. The only reason I'm even here is for the off chance that after my 1 month/10 post Blahhh I may be able to find the one invite I need. And I feel pretty sure that none of the new user will have it.

and it's not FTN or ScT I couldn't care less about those sites.

This would only encourage more trading which is wrong. Trading is just a form of payment (barter) and encourages leechers.. The trading of complete accounts is basically fraud and should be discouraged by FST Admin IMO.

Traders, of accounts should be banned.

this you will see at the top of the FST forum index page( top the right)

It seems most people don't want a PU section, which is cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I'm just guessing that most people who voted no haven't been burned on a major trade yet. It's easy to say no, but I don't see many reasons why everyone is saying no.

The idea was to have a secure area to trade for higher level sites. This would reduce the number of moles operating and make the trades more secure (in theory). You have to admit it's nothing for a scammer to get 5 accounts in here with +10 or better trade rep. It only takes a month.

And as far as e-penis goes, I think that area of the boards has been thoroughly covered with trading rep and post count. Plenty of post whores around already, I don't think a PU boards is going to add any more inches.

Having that section would go against the whole point of the trading forum as place where anybody can trade what they have. Everyone has to start somewhere and having 'top' traders in there as well provides noobs with advice and education in trading invites.

So wait, the invites section doesn't count? That forum has requirements too. Maybe we should make it open access?

The BT Invites section is kinda like a power user class anyways.

No, people come here to try and get onto exclusive sites we shouldn't make it exclusive in itself. Whether there was a 'power user' section or not I wouldnt trade my best sites - its just not worth the risk.

I meant anybody that meets the requirements already in place, which kind of makes it for 'power' users anyway. Opening it up without those requirements is an even worse idea than your original one!

The forum is doing fine as it is and doesn't need altering because it works. If you don't want to get burnt, use a middle man.

The BT invite section is the Power User section. If you are having problems trading you can either use a Middleman (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-middleman-request-138/) or report people who attempt to scam.
The requirements to get into the invite section have been talked about numerous times, and bumped up a couple.
Creating another level would be utterly pointless.

I agree with you on this point. This is a democracy, and the people's votes are respected. It's pretty clear the majority are happy with the way things are.

Don't get me wrong, I love these forums too. This is by far the safest place to trade and has the best community going. Though as good as it is, it can always be better. There is always room for improvements (just not for this one  )

You can always check trading reputation.

necromantic

You can always check trading reputation.

Trading reputation is fairly pointless. Rep is given freely for invites to TL and other low level trackers. Or you can give yourself rep with a second account. It is not a true reflection of your trading history.

Like others have already mentioned, a middleman is your only real defense (and even that isn't foolproof)

You are dead wrong there. Better you keep that sort of observation to yourself. FST's middleman has been carefully vetted by the FST's Admin and is totally to be trusted!

It's not the middleman you have to worry about, it's the other guy. There are several ways to scam while using a middleman. I'm not going to start listing them here so everyone can learn to scam but if you want proof pm me.

I don't think it would be that good of an idea. Anyone who spends any amount of time on the boards, knows who the reputable members are no matter what the rep says. If you question a trade that you are going to make, use a middleman or just don't do it. The middleman is set up to assist with your trades and I would recomend using them on any trade that you are worried about.
