After searching for your files you may have, say 8 users with the file you want.

The bandwidth for the file may be 926, but if you click the + symbol next to the title so all the users are available to be seen you'll probably notice that a lot have a bandwidth of just 1, but there's 1 person with a bandwidth of 3000 which brings up the overall to 926.

When you want to start downloading the file don't click on the main title, click on the individual user with the high bandwidth.

Example (I choose this image because i knew it had a lot of users, forget about the file name):

http://www.dcl69.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/userselect.jpg

Almost every time, i connect to the fastest uploader and my download speed is greatly increased.

Sorry if this has been said before :D

Edit: Added the image example because i was bored!
Edit2: domodude was not happy with my use of the word 'average' so i changed it to overall. Not that it makes a difference. Just forget about it being in bold.

The point of the example was to show you what to do, it had nothing to do with Johnny English (Which wasn't a fake file, but anyway)

This tip seems to work for me 90% of the time no matter what the file is, so just go for the person with the highest bandwidth.

Its as simple as that! :D

Interesting, you say that the average bandwidth is displayed. Why then is the bandwidth displayed as 575, but you say the highest is 434? Might want to check the facts before you post.

OMG, that is not the point of the tip! How many times must i say it!

The point is that you should choose the person with the highest bandwidth, instead of choosing the overall bandwidth.

It has nothing to do with overall bandwidth, and as i've said various times the example was only to show you where to click.

Why don't you go and get a life instead of picking out stupid little errors. This isn't rocket science it's just a place where people try to help other, hopfully without getting sarcastic remarks from other members.

If you've not got a productive comment then don't comment at all. :D

*mumbles* Goddamn me. I have an ADSL connection, in NYC, with Verizon, and I've been evaluated at roughly 11.7 seconds per megabyte, but Visual Basic 6 still takes 33 hours.

Holy Jesus H. Christ on a crutch. I went back and tried the same damn thing again, and I nailed 90kb/s... Finally, some results. God bless you Mary Poppins!

It's not that much faster than doing it the way you told us not to.

I was thinking and it dont think this can work because if u pick the user with the highest bandwidth you are making your download slower because it wont download from all of the other users also which will result in a slower download. If you click to download from everyone it downloads the file from all of the users that are online and sharing. So you would be downloading from that person with the high bandwidth if they are sharing. So clicking to download from one person is a bad idea unless your looking for a file with good quality. In that case you should click the downloads with a quality of 192 or higher.

No what it does is tries to connect to the user with the higest bandwidth first, then it will go through and connect to other users at the same time. It doesnt just connect to the one user. :D
