I do the magpie thing. Sometimes one stalks me.

I tap the teaspoons twice against the tea, and the toothbrush twice against the taps but I think that might be my OCD.

There is medication for that. It's called heroin.

I heard it has some side-effects* though.

*Check with your street pharmacist before taking....too much.

Put it an e on the end of heroin(e) to make it more palatable then. Heroine just might get rid of your tap habit.

Your welcome in advance.

I always have to eat an even number of green (white?) grapes (and I don't mean the Bo Selecta, Mel B type either).......otherwise the world will end. :fear:

Not really a superstition, but guffing downwind is just damn good advice!

bird thief? not likely, but i have had them(random birds) steal my bait on occasion when fishing. they stole the little pieces of bread i was using to fish for carp.

Yeah....but the dinosaur with wings, even though not a bird, would have kicked it's arse.

And, whats the point of being immortal if you have no weapons or a brain big enough to scheme world domination.

Phoenix, king of the birds. Meh.

Not peeled, just seedless because the seeds are the spawn of the devil himself.

I have stopped the chicken meat; after noticing an increase in the local elephant population. I now just place a piece of carved ivory in my garden as a sort of, "shot for the bow."

My Mum had several of these

Throwing salt over her shoulder (bad idea to stand behind her when she is cooking)

Grass green belongs to the fairies and should not be worn.

Putting new shoes on the table is an extremely dangerous thing to do (which was correct as it happens - almost invariably resulted in a painful clip around the ear so to this day I avoid putting new shoes on a table)

Saluting a single magpie - or desperately looking for a second one (One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl four for a boy etc.,). This used to not be too much of a problem but as there are so many of them these days it becomes a tad tiresome.

Punching superstitious people .... no wait - that is a new one on me :shifty:

Not heard the one about the legs and sleeping before but then some are quite culture specific.

I believe running towards a checkpoint shouting Allah Akbar is considered an unlucky thing to do in some places. :shifty:

the legs thing is done because you are carried out of a room when you die legs first.. so you sleep with your head facing the exit of the room :) that's the logic behind that one.
