Ok, ok I’ll say it. I’m addicted to Bittorrent. I’m addicted to downloading, uploading, posting in forums and on programs like limewire etc (on occasion)
I call it a hobby while my friends say I’m addicted. Sure, why can’t Bittorrent be a hobby? I tend to spend an average or 2 hours a day looking for something to download. I enjoy looking for new things to read and learn about, including P2P, ripping/burning, editing, fixing etc.
Ok so now its your turn. Are you addicted? How long do you spend looking for that next download fix? Please let me know so I can feel better about myself…… Or worse:P

Heh this is my hobby, in not addicted, it is just something I really enjoy and I spend a lot of time on that when I have nothing better to do.

Addiction ? Maybe, but not dangerous - I'm collage studant+working+partying and torrents are just fulfillment of my time.

Well.. I spend an average of 20 minutes every hour browsing torrent sites, posting on their forums, downloading things, i'm online about 16 hours a day..

Its definitely more than 5 hours. Although uTorrent is open 24/7 :)

I easily spend more than 5 hours a day. I browse around at work all day, and my computer has a slow connection, so its always torrenting 24/7...

Wow well the 5 and up hours is the winner so far and I have to say! I'm not shocked at all. I don't mean this to sound bad but Torrenting or P2P can take up allot of time and there for CAN be an addiction! I have to keep myself in check so I don't spend my whole day off downloading!
A friend of mine almost flunked out of freshmen year of college because all he did was download and watch TV, movie and DL video games.

first off what a great thread. as far being an addict i never used to think i was. lost the net for 3 months awhile back. tribble. i was jonsin like crazy. its like a drug.few hours a day looking for new stuff. utorrent up 24/7

i'd browse for some minutes, then check my ratios on my beloved trackers, then check some forums like FST, ZeroPaid, etc. then, i spend the rest of the day (if i have nothing to do), on actually using the files i've downloaded like watching elearning stuff, reading ebooks/magazines, taking a quiz with test engines, learning to play some guitar lines from the songs i've downloaded, watching tv series and some movies, upgrading some programs, and sometimes,

fantasizing the porn chick. LMAO!

maybe what i'm trying to say is, using the files i've downloaded is what's important for me. it's learning from them, being entertained, etc.

Well, there's at least two slightly different meanings of the word "addiction".
One just means you really like something, and spend a lot of time doing it, but your life and priorities are pretty much in order.

Then there's the other kind, where the addiction is actually hurting your life
and you keep doing it to the detriment of many aspects of your life (like flunking out of school, surfing at work when there's a risk of being fired, etc etc.

I think a lot of us 5+ hours a day users are more hobbyists than addicts. Just my humble opinion.
