I ran Disk Doctor(came with NSW 2002) with the fix errors box checked. After It goes for about 5 seconds I get an error message that reads that the Operating System has control of this disk and Norton can't repair, do you want to schedule a repair on restart?

When I restart, it comes up and scans the disks some, and then boots. Nothing was fixed, at least from what I can see. I thought I could use a boot disk to bypass the OS having control of the disk, but Norton won't run in DOS.

Does anyone have an idea?

NOGUIBOOT is not checked. Does Disk doctor repair errors for you?

Is there any way I could boot from a disk or CD and still have a gui interface that I could run disk doctor in?

What could you possibly need to fix that your OS can't handle itself, given the right commands?

Operating System has control of this disk
This is a GOOD thing!!

Try opening a command prompt and type c:>chkdsk /r and choose Y to run it after a reboot.

Norton is for a last resort when it looks like it's time to reinstall anyway.
