We have several speeches on cassettes, is there a way to get them to a cd?

Connect the cassette line out to the line in on your sound card. Record it as a wave file. Then burn it to a CD.

You could convert to MP3 or CD audio, (using CDEX) if you wish, prior to burning.

You could take an audio-out cable from your tape player to the line-in jack on your PC and record them as wav or mp3, then burn to CD.

Or you could use a hifi CD burner.

btw i tried the above quote and it recorded but the sound is crackly

Is the source crackly ?

Obviously the better the equipment and leads the better the recording. Ideally you would do it with audio cables (red and white) into audio cables on your soundcard. Most cards don&#39;t have these tho&#39;.

The next best would be audio leads, from the auxilliary output on the source, into a 3.5mm jack on the card (line in).

Next best is line out to line in. Which will be available to everyone (even if you have to use the headphone socket as the line out).
