If it only uses Sony Memory sticks then you are stuck buying them from Sony only. Read: more money.

Universal memory technologies(e.g. compact flash, smart media) are less expensive, they're not proprietary. More companies are making them which makes for lower prices.

Other than that, it's a good price for the specs.

I've checked the Sony website (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=Zw7WfSK4XgbWcBxGmUPcdm20kQfqQTvwYu8=?ProductID=o2kKC0%2eNTzsAAAD23AjZcghF) and the camera does use a Sony memory stick. Sony is the only maker of them.

Pros: rechargable batteries, MPEG capable, 16 frame multi-burst, USB capable, good megapixel spec.

Cons: no optical zoom, uses Sony proprietary memory stick.

Other than that, I would pick it up and see how easy it is to operate. Everyone has their own aptitude. Sony tends to make electronics that aren't very intuitive(er, easy to use).
