Pretty much, Steam is the client...Uhm...

You pay steam for the game and then you can download it into the client and it is stored with your login details, So you can only play the game if you can login to the steam account they are linked to.

People want to play steam games and they dont have the money for the games etc? Maybe they are too young to work or something. Trackers are free, So a free tracker from someone who has good sites could be traded for the steam account with games they want but cant afford.

Maybe?

it's not like torrents at all you by the games online and then you d/l them and play them through the steam login client, you need to have steam installed on your computer in order to login and thus to play

Its NO WAY like torrents rofl, its just a client that you have to use to play the games they provide, mainly VALVE games.. go to www.steampowered.com and see lol

steam are being traded alot with keys and other accounts.
i have done it many times,one time i gave the guy guild wars for his steam account the fuck requested his account back through steam(if you have proof,you can get it back,just say its stolen)and i lost my precious guildwars account,but i am over it now :P
