We did get a 'collectors edition' over here in the UK, it had a brand new hour long documentary, a few deleted scenes and outakes...maybe this anniversary edition is something completely different?? Hoping so, 'Scarface' only the best gangster movie ever made..Bring it on!!! ;)

that collectors edition in the US..they quit making it a while back. i borrowed it from my friend and the sound and picture is pretty shitty so i'm guessing everything is gonna be re-mastered for the new version

there's nothing "just" about a good remaster. most dvds released around 1997-1999 need to be remastered because they were usually 1) transferring from a really poor quality film print or 2) the compression technique created noticeable distortion in the picture. sometimes, they just compressed straight from a digital transfer that had been previously created for laserdisc.

oh.. its still a good movie either way.

this movie is a classic... i bought the last collectors edition on ebay for like 30$ un opened, the OOP one. Shitty transfer to dvd in my opinion. Hopefully they get this one right.
