in the crazy world we live in, if he had been hit and killed or injured, his family (or himself if he had lived) would have sued for millions, because the security wasn&#39;t prepared for some idiot to be running onto the track. Goddamn lawyers&#33;&#33;&#33;

It&#39;s good to think that in the UK we have a heightened sense of security just now because of the threats of terrorism.

It&#39;s practically impossible to gatecrash a high level party, or a major national sporting event.

It appears that for a man to do this they have to put on a stupid dress and walk in / on.

One shudders to think what would happen if we were to become lax.

There was that guy with the white dress and "Osama" beard on at one of the royal&#39;s party a few weeks ago.

Sometimes the security is shocking, but some kind of compromise has to be made, or else the point of the event, usually entertainment or fun, or a celebration even, is quashed by the overbearing security methods.

It&#39;s hard to know where the line of compromise should be.

To use a really simple example, i went to a friends 21st birthday party, and the bouncers on the door and inside the club were so strict, and used pretty physical methods to enforce their rules, that the entire party was ruined. If they had kept a watchful eye on unfolding events (which were just a bit of fun), instead of acting as soon as they saw anyone so much as move quickly, then a good time would have been had by all.

But that said, i don&#39;t see what&#39;s so hard about keeping spectators at a multi-million pound racing event off the track. In this case the crowd should be a distance away for their own safety (crashes, explosions, flying tyres), so anyone who breaks free from the crowd should be stopped before they get anywhere near the track.

My suggestion is having a snipers dotted around the track, anyone stupid enough to endanger themselves and the drivers should be shot on sight anyways :lol:

A good idea, well thought out.

I suggest you e-mail Bernie E and suggest it post haste. The snipers could have adverts for cigarettes on their uniforms.

Why not take out a few of the crowd anyway? You could be sure that would cut down the numbers for the next GP. Then take out all of those - they would have to be nutters for not taking notice of the first warning.

It would also make room for better camera positions so we could get even better viewing, and Bernie could get higher fees for the TV companies for the improved coverage. Quite frankly, I&#39;m surprised he hasn&#39;t already thought of this.
