I visit my local library ( which happens to be the Main county library- lucky me!) about 2 times a week, on average.

because i read a lot, i get most of the books iread from the library
some people dont realize that they have a share system also
if my local library doesnt have the book i want (new or old) they will
borrow it from another library, (even from another state often times)
and i dont have to pay postage or anything- i think thats real cool.
the only drawback is when some real popular novels come out you
are sometimes on a waiting list if people get there and request it first.
normally they wont borrow from another if they have copies of their on
i guess there probally in high demand pretttty much every where.

I read a lot too, and since reading e-books on my pc has completely f**ked my eyes, I've decided to go back to old-fashioned books, so I've signed in at the library again... Only to discover that the books I wanted had been stolen or borrowed before I came in! AAAAARGH!

Well, since I need my daily reading as much as some members of this board need their daily cheeeez, I guess I can kiss my eyes goodbye!

well, I used to go there 2-3 times a week, but a while ago they accused me of damaging a book, which I didn't. They wanted me to pay for it, which I didn't. Now they took away my card and I'm not allowed to borrow books anymore :(

Hehehe, so I borrow books with Bender's card

I go there every two weeks now I think, mostly bcause I spend a lot of time reading articles on the internet and because I have to read special books for uni....I don't have that much time left for fiction :(

I'm afraid I can't answer this one.

The question contains a split infinitive.

Sorry it would just be too painful

It's one of those things that, once you notice, it really grates.

Slowly and inexorably eating into your soul.

Sucking out your very will to live.

Until ....

It's okay.

It's not a lending library, so he just steals them.

Were you being presumptuous at all old bean ?

Wish I had more time to go to the library. Actually, in High School, my parents thought I spent a lot of time at the library. However, since then I find out that they were not as naive as I thought they were! lol!!

I have lots of work related reading to do......piles of it to stay abreast of things.

I love to find books at garage sales. I love to look through a person's books at garage sales because it gives me some insight to that person, too! lol!!!

I worry too much about damaging a library book. Spill enough coffee on things as it is!!! ;)

Dang. I think I have just talked myself into venturing out to a few garage sales. With coffee in hand, no less. :D ;)
