Where's this march at, America?

Hmm, I guess I have no chance in creating a march for the average waged, white, staright male in his 30's parade.

The only thing I am good for is paying taxes.

So organise a march. No-one is stopping you.

A friend of mine happened to be in San Fransisco when the Gay Pride march was on. He was there with his wife, they had a great time.

He watched it for about 3 hours and said it was absolutely brilliant. They really have a laugh and play up to all of the stereotypes. Take the piss out of themselves and just have a good laugh.

Like I say hypo organise a march, have some fun, it might do you good.

Lilmiss

i would march for anything i believed in.
no, im not gay, but everyone has a bit of bi in them. ;)

i dont think gays should have more rights than us, but i dont like the way some people still treat them. a lot of my friends are gay, so i would be marching for them really more than myself.

if you want to have a straight march, you go for it.
what would it involve? a stroll down the shops in a suit, then back home for a cuppa n a biccy?
that'll do me dandy. :D

Very well said Jpaul :)

Very true, the marches seem to be amazing fun and I would love to go to one :D

Why are 'they' different, 'they' are people who know how to have fun which is why the word 'GAY' is used........it means happy :D

Oddly enough Mens Rea (guilty knowledge) is feminine.

Actus Reas (guilty act) is masculine.

So to think is feminine, to act is masculine.

Discuss.....

Anyway Hypno

Why would you be proud to be straight, or gay, or black, or white, or tall or short.

These are things which you are. It is the way you are made.

People should be proud of what they achieve, not what was given to them.

Other than the fact that I am proud of how much children are turning out and the sort of people they are becoming - good chaps.

My proudest personal achievement is giving up smoking after 20 years. I decided I wanted to dance at my daughters wedding. As she was less than one at the time (five now) I couldn't guarantee being there, never mind dance.

Went with her to the chemist, bought some nicotine chewing gum. Never looked back.

Well done m8 :) Very good point :) I wish I had never started (at 11y/o, now 26) but I can't give up :( It's not a matter of will power with me, but If I'm gonna do something it has to be cos I want to.......Not cos I think I ought to :)

It's a law thing. Most criminal offences (other than absolute offences) require guilty knowledge.

That does not mean that the person believes the thing should be illegal, or have made some moral judgement and believe it is wrong

It means that they know it is an offence (against the law). So you have Actus Reus and Mens Rea. The person did something that was illegal and they knew that it was illegal.

Absolute offences do not require Mens Rea, if you do them it is an offence, whether you knew it or not. e.g in Scotland reset (dealing in stolen goods) is an absolute offence.

Is that too much information ?

A flasher exposed himself to three gray-haired old ladies in the park.

The first old lady had a stroke.

The second had a stroke as well.

The third just gave it a squeeze though.

You are of course correct.

You need to find a reason to give up, which is more important than keeping doing it. I found mine. She is 5 now.

Very few people thought I could do it. Ironically I didn't find it as difficult as I thought it would be. I only tried once, the trick is to stay away from situations where you would need to smoke. If you are in them, to have friends who know you well.

When I drink I want to smoke. My friends know this and will not give me a cigarette under any circumstances. It wouldn't be the first time I had to make a few apologies the next day.

When sober it doesn't bother me. I can sit with the same people all day, while they are smoking. No prob.

well mate they are most impressive, they should be incorporated into the general board emoticons as they sometimes fail to convey exactly what you wanna say. Although I do remember a topic in the past suggesting that new ones were added and as far as I know nowt was done about it. In saying all this you should keep em to yourself so that everyone could be envious of your more communicative (Is this even a word) ways :D

http://www.piczonline.com/client/titey/happy.gif Thanx for the complement, but they're really not too hard to make - just a bit time-consuming perhaps.

So far as keeping them to m'self... now that would go against the "p2p code"... we should all share. http://www.piczonline.com/client/titey/fool.gif Besides it's more fun when everybody can use them... I've never objected. A couple of users with boards of their own have incorporated some of them too.

Yes, I would probably fan the flames a bit if it were busier in here, but at present we wouldn't have much back-up if he got too stupid. Then we'd probably have a Lounge full of flames/spam. <_<

I've only been here a bit less than two months, but I seem to recall a user going by that name (Z), but they weren't around for long after I arrived. Aaaanyway :) , yeah pal I joined not long after yourself as you can probably see by my when I joined date (way to go on stating the obvious Zero, doh, and speaking to yourslef in the third person  ) I was around a fair bit but due to a lot of the sh*t going on I decided to stay away and am kinda toying with leaving altogether. I think you missed those "memorable" couple of days in the Phorum. (last weekend)

The spammers and flamers were rampant and as there were no mods around (as is typical of a weekend night - well night here anyway) the place was nearly intollerable.

The similar thing occured here the weekend before that - same M.O.

So since this would then be the third weekend... I prefer to proceed with caution. ;)

I would be for us to have a straight march, but not in the way that seems to be intended here. If you want to be zero tolerant about it, that's your problem - I'm guessing that such feelings are mutual.

I should really use those sarcasm tags more

That jews comment was satirical - It was meant to illustrate the ridicularity of this topic; if gays are the first step, chances are that some other 13,14,15-year old will come again and start spouting crap about some other group of people.

Here's for the record - I have no problem against any person due to what they are. I don't believe in "groups" - I believe in people. And I don't have problems with any of them.

Apart from xenophobes, hypocrites, and morons ;)

No i'ts not that,

It's just that Straight people can't imagine how Gay people feel i think?
I don't mind if people are gay, i just like people because the are people.
And their sexual preference is of no importends to me.

I'm straight myself, and i personally can't visualize myself on any other level.
The only thing i can't understand is, why do Gay people show their sexuality so extravagantly?

Sure i think it's a very BIG thing for any gay to come out of the closet and come in peace with him/herself after accepting that fact and i have great respect for that, but why exaggerate it all?

That's very well said, but to answer your question it's.......

Because happy people have been opreesed for sooooooooo long, now it is acceptable they are celabrating and showing the world that they are good happy people :)

I just had to add my 2 cents worth

homophobes are only depriving themselves
i don't want to live in a world without the likes of oscar wilde, david bowie, queen, francis bacon, ru paul, michealangelo, andy warhol, hans christian anderson, frida kahlo, william s burroughs, leonardo da vinci or socrates to name a few and not including some of my most loved friends and family [and all of the gay girls i lust after]

i was born in sydney australia where just about the biggest 'gay' festival in the world is held, it's called the gay and lesbian mardi gras
it also includes bi and trans gender folk as well and it can make more money than the australian grand prix
[grand prix = big pricks :P :: awful pun i know, but it's true about the money]
some of the best and most amazing times i've had in my life have been with the sydney gay community, like jonno indicates gay people definitely KNOW how to party [and put a lot of straight parties to shame] also there is much less agro generally [you get to feel safe]
:: werd up to jonno as well for being free of fear [brother the surf must be cold in 'ngland though]
i don't know why the straight community can't find the energy to celebrate their sexuality, but they just don't
:: werd up to hypo for wanting to change that
:: but a big thumbs down to all the xenophobes
if you can't abide gay people that is YOUR problem [gay people don't generally care that you're straight so what's the issue]

it's the 21st century and closets are out of style, people are different to you [you should get used to it]
[i love that eric estrada pic  ]

@jonno :: your friend in the fly suit is a strapping lad isn't 'e ;)

What's with all the gay haters?
Personally, I loved going out in gay clubs, back in the time.
At least your girlfriends virtue is safe there.
I never joined a gay march, because I'm afraid to get drunk, and wake up with a sore ass.
Anyway, if one of you homophobics ever come to Antwerp, remember to visit the "Rue de vaseline". I guarantee you'll have a great time. And if you don't, at least the guys there will. :D
