It appears that several people decided to sell invites on eBay, therefore all invites have been removed until further notice.

Thx alot sellers, now no1 have any invites :(

I had 3 invites and then they bumped it down to 2 invites thinking they were being nice to everybody. but now i guess it doesn't matter because of the damn lamers.

Lost 2 as well.

A certain fat felion foretold several trackers pulling invites by the end of the month..I'm guessing this is the first with more to come. :ermm:

Me to...

Some people need to learn something :yup:

But they never do.

take away invites, your tracker goes up levels in "that" thread.

Bring back invites in the future, its worse than it was before.

This really isn't a recent phenomenon. Invite sellers have existed for quite some time now and sites weren't taking such drastic measures. Now they are.
Besides,SCC has a weird invitation system anyway. One day you have 10 and the next day you have none.
While i agree site admins will do whatever it takes to keep their site "safe" i don't think this is a permanent solution. If and when they do open again there will be sellers again.
Anyway to each their own i say.

true,,but then again you also get some some "groups" that do "exactly" what P2P does>>public release via P2P website, scene/p2p have almost merged into one(most groups have affil to torrent top-sites nowadays,,,even if they dont wanna admit it,,lol)

When I consider a little... Disabling invites for ALL users because of some problematic user who is selling invites is, rather, very childish and impulsive decision...

vergo
02-23-2008, 10:44 PM
The easiest way to get rid of this problem would be for staff to buy the invites themselves, ban the user, and do a chargeback later on.

if its like that they should cancel the invite system for long time
and stick with open signup when slots are open

If the chargebacks are successful, then there is no need for donation money to be used for this.
