You are not a heathen. The price does not reflect the quality. I always tell my customers that they like what they like so lets try and find the best of the stuff they like.

In your case if you are drinking NZ Sauvignon (which is beautiful)and you like it, then go for the smaller maker, just over the bay from cloudy bay, as you get the same quality for about 7 quid a bottle.

Nooo, that's a really good tip. My OH is the purchaser for a private member's bar and they have a lot of posh wine that we get to try.....they don't really care about the cost I suppose, and you have to keep up appearances for the clientele. They are really nice, but it's useful to know there are alternatives out there of similar quality. We've actually got a brilliant wine shop down the road and the proprieter often suggests a cheaper wine that he thinks is nicer, which is pretty cool.
