I had one today. I almost cried at the wondrousness of it

Holland and Barratt do them and they taste just like the real thing, except they don't have that lovely jelly inside. I'm trying their veggie scotch egg tomorrow .

PS. Shut up JP!

I love all that fake meat veggie stuff. It generally tastes better than couscous.

I have in mind an incredibly amusing anecdote which I regrettably cannot share.

Fact. :dabs:

I'm sure it's nowhere near as entertaining as my best guess :01:

Actually, your best guess probably doesn't begin to approach my anecdote.

More's the pity...alas, alas, I say. :(

I want to know now :(

I'd be giving up my identity, more-or-less, in order to properly tell the story.

Don't think I want to do that. :dabs:

Does it involve an addiction to Oxycontin and cheeseburgers?

No, it's just really weird.

I wouldn't have the slightest problem apart from the issue of broadcasting my name.

Oh big deal...the goat is almost certainly dead by now and the kids (see what I did there?) can't read.

Why do they bother putting that crappy wax rind on veggie bacon?
Nothing will ever smell like, or taste like real bacon.

It's just adding to insult imo. :snooty:

Yes, yes, with you there are always kids involved, aren't there.

(see what I did there?)

Hey, are you headed for dinner or what.

So your first name is not a verb?

It can also be an adjective...even a noun...

At the supermarket yesterday, I noticed that while there are many examples of vegetable matter attempting to disguise itself as meat- soy being the most egregious offender- I was unable to find a single instance of the reverse.
No prime rib pretending to be brussel sprouts, for instance.

Many instances of lesser meats (think SPAM or hot dogs) striving above their station (passing themselves off as "edible") but apparently even foodstuffs know what the proper order of things should be.

Yup.

Red meat is conservative.

White meat is liberal, especially pork, though over the last eight years genetic experimentation has yielded some peculiar strains of pork which mimic red meat in appearance.

Here's hoping they find no long-term market.
