If you could bring a dead rock star back to life for one gig, who would it be?

John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Buddy Holly, Freddie Mercury? Or someone else?

This Day in Music are carrying out a world-wide survey to see which dead rock stars people would want to see again - for one night only!

Who would you pick? You can see a full list and vote on

Black magic loving cunts.

I liked their early stuff but they became too commercialised.

Sid Vicious. I've always wanted to ask the spoiled junkie, why he wasn't more grateful for being one of the luckiest, talentless, arses in the whole wide world of punk.

ffs, he landed a sweet gig without even being able to play his instrument. He basically had to shoot up and slice his body to shreds for the crowds pleasure.

On that note, bd, I'll say Iggy Pop.

But he did have some talent, contrary to your handpicked rockster.

Wait a minute, Iggy Pop is still alive, albeit looking like an undead, smack zombie cunt.

I would be afraid that the obvious choices- Joplin, Hendrix, Morrison- were too much the product of their age and would be seen as mere curiosities today.
Syd Barrett hung around for a long time after being kicked from PF and didn't manage to do anything, so why bring him back to suffer?

Freddie Mercury was probably the greatest showman of our time but what was left...his own theater in Vegas?

They- and we- are probably better off leaving them to rest, secure in our memories and ensconced in legend.
