The brat says our computer is a bit past it (piece of shite were her exact words I think :() Monitor and keyboard etc, are all relatively new so was thinking of getting just the box of tricks. Comet have an Acer M3100 for £430 notes. That seems to be the going rate for that sort of spec. Any suggestions?*

I think the old 286 still has a bit of life left in it myself but what do I know :idunno:

* I have already rebooted the bios btw,

PCWorld, 5-10 minutes walk from you. They will price match some internets sites you just have to take a print or something else.

If you want to buy something from a shop, like back in the day.

I'm not sure if they look kindly on computers down in Ayrshire. I think they refer to them as 'devil machines' :fear:

Across from that is Priceless.

They are the other side of the market, as well as the street.

It's the one company JP has no shares in.

I got my last 2 (not including laptops) from the Comet Clearance Centre.

Brand new in boxes never open. Cleared to allow newer specs into shops. As I don't play games or owt they do me just Jim Dandy.

Couple £199 each if memory serves.
