Do you still have free access to newsgroups (rhetorical)? Virgin > all U.S. ISPs.

I think ours is about £25 ($34) a month for 10mb internets, a phone line and digital telly.

edit: speedtest what i just done:
9948 kbps (1.24MB/s)
475 kbps (59.4kB/s)

edit 2: I think the phone line might be a few quid more ontop, hactually.

I pay $55 per month for 10mb and have a 95gb cap, $1.50 per gb over, and pay over $50 for digital cable (cable is like $30 for my parents then for my digital it's like an extra $25).

The wireless router I got with Virgin is wank. But when I use ethernet it's speedy as fuck.

I was getting 1200kb off of usenet last night, like. But if you steal more than 800mb between 4pm and 9pm, you get throttled to fuck for 5 hours. If you're paying for unlimited 10 meg broadband, you should fucking well be getting 10 meg unlimited broadband. Bunch of fucking cawksuckers.

i pay £27 amonth for basic tv, free weekend calls and 10mb interwebs. with virgin, pretty sweet deal.

The internet service is pish. At least in built up areas. It's probably fine out yonder where you all hail from.

Virgin internets was great at my mum's house, but since I've got my own house the interwebs is a big fail

I use a belkin router but sometimes it forgets to send the message that I've pressed go. The engineer came round to fix it last year and said the interweb was out of line :eyebrows:

Time for a new router me thinks :smilie4:

I use a belkin router too, like. Other than it needing rebooted once in a while, it wurks fine.

I'm the same Bo; I've got the Belkin router and every so often it needs rebooting. Pretty happy with Virgin though: £17 a month for 10MB, phone line with free calls to Belgium and medium digital telly package (only keeping that because I love having Virgin on Demand). As I said before, they made a cock up with one of our bills one time, sorted it out straight away and gave us reduced rates for 12 months.

Been on vigin for years now, and i does what it says on the tin. Most I know who use other ISP's have a lot more grief, slower broadband and pay more.

Pish. I spoke to the customer services and they admitted the service was pish in London. They also admitted that it doesn't do what it says on the tin. :snooty:

It might help if you say exactly what your problem is rather than just slagging them off.

Where I live I get 20Mb and unlimited downloads, sometimes it even goes up to 25Mb and I have to say that customer service is really very good indeed and all for £25.

I am supposed to have an 8mb connection from BT. I did a speed test on the internets and I was barely 56k modem. I was righteous in my anger.....

turned out SGG was seeding and had stole all my megahurtz. Lucky I didn't phone up to complain.

£65 with Virgin for XL everything... and absolutely no complaints.

Excellent Customer Service... but i suspect this is because I'm in an Ex-Telewest area. I've heard horror stories from Ex-NTL customers

I pay a tenner for my internets with Sky. No caps at all and the speed test i just did says -

Download - 7243kb\s
Upload - 639kb\s

its probably more than a tenner but my mate pays for it all with our Sky Digital. i chuck him a tenner for it and i am the only one to use it. Never had a problem with it either

I was with Virgin when they were NTL and they were shit. I closed down my tv and internet with them cos i was moving, they turned it all off and then 6 months later i had a letter from bailiffs demanding money for Virgin for my internet cos they had forgotten to shut down the billing for 2 months after stopping the connection!!

Obviously never had one of their Credit Cards then...

...issued by MBNA, 'nuff said.

Or, travelled on one of their trains come to think of it.

Trouble is that they rent the branding out to companies that they have no control over.
