30-40 cm is a fair dumping even for the Great White North.
Are there even snowplows/salters in the south of England or do people just muck about until it melts?

There are gritters on the motorways, but they've got to get it done before the snow starts or it's a waste of time.

We get that here in the north east very often and when it is not snow, it is ice, I hate this winter.
