Doom 3

need some opinions on this people. will it be as good as say, halo2 or half life 2?

You can download the Doom 3 Episode 3 Beta Demo off the FastTrack Network. Although it does require a pretty damn good PC to run it.

ya i played that on my comp. got about 3 fps looking at the floor with all the settings turned down :o . i know that hl2 will have a better storyline, but doom 3 definately will have a hell of a better graphics engine. nuff said. <_<

I played the Doom 3 Alpha when it was first released and it was pretty damn good. With the amount of time ID have had to finish the game since the alpha was out I&#39;m hoping for a fantastic game. Although when expectations are high...

The Alpha Doom 3 E3 Ripp runs on my comp. (radeon 9500 pro. 2.0ghz 512mb ram). It lags slighty in some things.
Extremely Realistic&#33;&#33;&#33; The sound, blood, effects, everything... TOTALLY AWSOME. Gun Fire is like soo realistic and slick that the first time i shot that pistal It gave me a shake&#33; :D C0o0o0

Also the monsters like have very creepy groans that come from distant to like right into your ear&#33; WHat a thrill ride&#33;

There&#39;s this mecha alien thing that makes this weird ass groan.. ZzzzZzZZaarrahaha... I just pull out machine gun and blast the mofo to hell. Takes alot of bullets without dieing

Yeah i have the doom 3 demo alpha leak and its bloody wicked. I can honestly say i have not seen ne thing come close to doom 3 graphics. Even half life 2.

If that is an Alpha version i cant wait for the final version :)

damn straight :D &#33; seriously though, that game is in 5.1 dolby digital surround&#33; u can really hear those zombies looking for you. ne who&#39;s played the alpha, remember that level (i think it was right before u finish the first level), ur walking down, and u hear something from ur right hand side, and it turns out to be some imp or something looking for you in the dark, the best thing to do in that situation (no really, to see the effects of doom3), step back, and hide in that little dark corner. u&#39;ll see it walk down, and then all of a sudden look back at you and make this snarling sound, and then it starts walking away... :o that was probably the coolest scripting or effect i&#39;ve seen. my friends comp was ordered from alienware, so we put doom3alpha on it and used it for, uhmm, "benchmarking". got 20 fps while shooting and 30+fps walking around on his radeon 9700. you can actually see the pores and skin depths&#33; i remember the bathroom level, where that big pig thing with metal legs was lurking around in the shadows, i turned around, and BAM&#33; u could see saliva dripping from the pig thing&#39;s mouth as it prepared to leap and make the kill.

three words: BEST GAME EVER&#33; :o :D :o

scaryness is not what a game is based on to see if its good :rolleyes: The Source engine has the over all better engine cuz it can do more But still Doom 3 will have the top place for graphics for a looooooong time. one of the ways they are able to get this game to play is to dark out some places completely like in map3 in the alpha in the first room ur in after the monster comes thru the wall to your left is that little set of stair but on the other side there is a little place that is completelyt dark with 2 zombies in it they cut down what the video card has to write at one time which works prefectly and thats how they were able ot scale the engine down. pretty genius to think of something as simple as that to cut down needing a 400 dollar card to run the game
