Other than it being strung the wrong way, is it any good?

It's ace, Epiphone PR-5E electro acoustic.

The neck feels more like an electric and it's really cool to play. Not the fullest sound in the world but you need a decent sized jumbo with a deep body for that. I would sacrifice the bit of sound for the playability.

Put it this way I am giving serious consideration to getting one, however given that his loans are months or years there seems little point.

Buy one and loan it to me, then you keep a hold of the one you've borrowed, obviousment.

I'd love a shiny new electric, like.
I've only got a wank cheapo tanglewood thing I got when I was just beginning and an old right handed strat (converted to lefty) with knackered wiring.

If you want to get a reasonably inexpensive one that is a good guitar try the Pacifica. The one that looks Stratish.

I'm not arsed about looks as much as playability and sound, like.
Not that it matters when I've got 18p in the bank:pinch:

The Pacifica is the best "budget" electric

I want this. I want this badly.

It's a quality product burdmate. I've been playing it tonight and loving it.

Ideally the cut away bit would be a wee bit less sharp and more rounded. However I am addicted to the Les Paul shape which it is clearly an homage to.

And also it's an Epiphone, which is the "budget" arm of Gibson. It actually says Gibson on the truss rod cover. Which, in common with other Epiphones is the same shape as the Gibson, but with the three screws, as one would expect on the Epiphone version. Rather than the two you would see on the Gibson equivalent.

If I have any redundancy pennies left by the time I get my first paypacket I'm having one or something similar.

Quick inhouse guitar count. There are only 4 classicals, 4 acoustics, 2 electrics, and 3 basses so I definatly need one. To be fair, two of the classicals and two of the acoustics are utterly knackered but I can't get rid of them. It'd be like culling my friends.

Oh and a trumpet.

You all disgust me in a general way. You think you're so cool with your hand-eye, brain-rhythm shite.

I've got a piano and I fucking hate it. I bought a violin for my daughter but the wankdog of a music teacher put her on the drums. It's like the fucking Muppet Show in my house. True story.

I play the Tin Whistle to some degree. I'm gonna beat the piano to death with a tin whistle.

In 'C'- for the purists.

Slowly, Skweeks, slowly.

Got to grips with the general chord structure and whatnot, but strumming isn't as easy as it looks, like.

Refusing to give up though. And it fucking astounds me how fuckers can sing and play at the same time. That's like doing two different things at the same time or something else.

Genius cunts.

It's a piece of pish to do once you can actually play, like.

You ever see that Nirvana vid with Grohl playin bass, drums and singing at the same time?

I can get a tune out of a penny whistle. Never learned like but I learned some chanter when I was a laddie and one can adapt.

In other news, the bloke who lent(see what I did there) me the guitar got a whistle from another mate of ours. Asked me if I'd ever played it and I said no (true story). I took it and played a wee tune, Rowan Tree I think. He just said "cunt" and walked away.
