if you're uploading too quickly, you can choke your download bandwidth
i limit upload to 85% of my upload bandwidth, using a program called netlimiter

If u have DSL and your download rate is faster than 6kB/s then be happy and to abu there is a way I'm just not going to say cause it will mess up things if everyone does and don't pm me asking how either.

If u do get shawdows get 5.2 it's very good the others are kind of buggy.

if you have a router it could be that, you have to forward ports 6881-to-6999 for bittorrent to download fast.

if you havnt got a router, maybe its your firewall (some cable modems have NAT firewalls built in) so if your connected to another user with a nat firewall you might as well be on dialup.
