mate you can resize stuff and they're both reallly customisable, this isn't IE the preferences section is actually of some use. In my experience the way opera and mozilla render a page is ever so slightly different to IE and imo nicer. I take it you also haven't tried mouse gestures, or any of the other features or even had a look at some of the lovely skins you can get.

Or you can just right-click on an empty space on the opera browser, select skin then get skins. :D

Yup. I use the OSX Grey skin, love it. Opera is a lot more customizable than IE, play around with some of the stuff it has, you'll like it.

I had been using opera and liked it alot. I just recently made a switch over to myie2 and so far am impressed it hasn't crashed on me yet, and seem pretty stable. Opera would crash on me occassionally but at least I could always start where I left off. Myie2 is also pretty customizable. Right now I'm using the panther skin and I really like it, and there are a ton of plugins for it, even though I don't use any.

I hate opera. I dont know why. Probably because the linux version of opera is so crappy that your forced to use mozilla.

But I hear the opera for windows is pretty good.

I am a big fan of Opera. I was hooked once I started using the mouse gestures. Holding down the right mouse button and click the left to go back is great. One the rare occasion that I use IE I find myself trying to do this and I get annoyed.

Here is another reason to avoid IE IE problems (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/56/33187.html)

@shn: What version of Opera for Linux have you used? I use 7.11 with Red Hat 9 and it works pretty well. I am a total linux noob and I don't run RH all that often but Opera seems alright.

ditto to everything dingobaby just said, but i just thought i'd add that MYIE2 has some of the mouse gestures (not all) so its not quite as annoying when your forced to use an IE version

Danger!! See the other thread about yet another vulnerability in IE...one that has already been "Fixed" by M$.

I've been using Mozilla Firebird (windows) for about 2 weeks now. I think its brillliant software and has not crashed on me yet. The thing that makes me really like it is that its open source!! I am a big fan of open source projects. So well done Mozilla.

Something else that leads me away from IE and Microsoft also is this book I read that turned my mind around. Its called "Speeding The Net" - The inside story of Netscape and how it challenged Microsoft. It tells the whole tale of the browser wars when they first began and onwards. I found it at an old book-sale so i doubt anyone would be able to find it on the net.
