3ds Max?

My copy of 3ds max 4 full came instructions, but I'm unable to get it to work. If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciatte it.
first it tells me to uncheck the following:
-character studio 3
-samples
-max sdx
BUt I don't know where I'm supposed to do this. If I try to install it tells me " Could not copy" \3dsmax4final\eula\Adsklicense.ini. Installation may not function.

Then It say's I have not accepted end user agreement. I don't know how to do this either
THen it tells me to install cdilla which I did, then it say's to go to key gen. This is where I can't get it to give me the key gen. Not sure where/ how to get the right request code.

I got it to work...I don't remember having any trouble, but I've deleted it now and the .nfo file too...reread
the directions and make sure you followed them exactly, they were a bit complicated.

i couldnt ever get that to work.. what's the name of the working crack?

there's not a crack, just instructions in the .nfo file.
This is the Installation.txt from my copy:

Discreet – 3d Studio Max 5.1 inc Character Studio 4.0

Installation:

Insert cd1 and when the installer launches, choose ‘Standalone Installation’

Enter your Serial number and CD key (included in 'serial no.txt' in the crack\Max51 directory)

You can leave the ‘User Information’ Window blank.

Choose your destination directory for Max & Backburner.

Select your installation type: Typical, Compact or Custom.

Select which version of Character Studio you wish to install: 3.4, 4.0 or None.

Restart your system when asked.

Delete any hidden/system ‘*.dat’ files from the hidden ‘C_DILLA’ folder in your C: drives root directory. Do not delete anything else!!

Copy the relevant CS files from the ‘Crack/CSxx/Plugins’ folder on the root of the cd to your installed Max\Plugins folder, overwriting the existing ones.

i.e. If you installed version 4.0 of Character Studio…..Copy the four files from ‘CD:\Crack\CS40\Plugins’ to ‘C:\3dsmax51\plugins’  etc….you get the idea!

Start Max 5.1
You will prolly get a message saying “A previous license has been detected” Blah!!...blah!! Just click ‘O.K.’

When you are asked what you would like to do……select the top option if you have a choice…’Authorize 3ds max 5’ then click next.

Now the next window is where a lot of people get it wrong!!
At the top of the window about 3 lines down, will be your request code
in the form: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Please note there should be 16 numbers!!
If you have more! e.g. 32…. Then you didn’t delete that hidden ‘*.dat’ file from C:\C_DILLA’ did you!!  So what are you scratching your butt for??
Hit ‘cancel’ and go delete it now! Then when you are back here, we will continue.

If it now shows 16 numbers, select the bottom option ‘Enter Authorization Code’ and click ‘Next’

Start the included Keygen from ‘CD:\Crack\Max51\Keygen’ and copy and paste your request code into the top window of the keygen. Click ‘Go for It!’ and your authorization code will be generated in the bottom window.

Copy and paste the generated authorization code into the large window at the bottom of the Discreet ‘Register Today’ window. Select your country from the dropdown list and click ‘Next’

If all went well you will get an ‘Authorization Confirmation’ window open. Click ‘Finish’ and Max will start.

Select your Graphics Driver setup depending on your hardware and click ‘O.K.’

Congratulations……. You can now enjoy 3dsmax 5.1 and CS 4.0 ;)

Hey BTW Entropy i had that same problem when i got 4.2 u uncheck those in the custom install... also the thing came with 1 huge directory folder and 2 directory subfolders. i deleted it... lol so i think u gotta have the folder with the word documents inside the main CD FOlder :)

yeah 5 is better and also very easy to install, the only problem i have had/still have is that it keeps comming up with some stupid licence error. forgot what it said the program is long gone, i think i might go install it see if i cant get it working again :huh:

I downloaded 3dsmax a little while ago (56K, took ages <_< ) and there were 2 corrupted files.

I was able to find the files of Kazaa though (another 256Mb).

It installed alright, but then whenever I tried to load the program, the winlogon.exe process screwed up, eating up lots of processing power and making everything on my computer really really slow.

Anyone else had this trouble or know how to fix it?

that&#39;s normal....it&#39;s not really designed for an average user&#39;s desktop pc.
It&#39;s a heavy duty rendering app.

I have 3d Studio Max release 5.0, How can I install Character Studio 3.4? When I read the readme.doc of the installer CD it says "Character Studio 3.4 installs from within the 3ds max 5". But i could not find it in setup installation, it did not mention anything about Character Studio... Pls help me.
How can I install and where can I download the same version of character Studio 3.4, I know this is an old version,

Also in the CD, there's no CRACK folder but ony KEYGEN folder, inside of it is cs-keygen and hv-Max5-fg only.
