View Full Version : Suggestion For The Forum

I think that there should be a section of the forum where people can ask for help and support in other languages. The reason why I say this is because a couple of days ago, someone wrote a message asking for help in another language. They were told that if they want help, they must translate their message into English. But what if the person doesn't have the ability to do so?

I felt quite sorry for the person because they could not get the help they needed.

So I think it would help if there was a section for other languages, and when someone asks for help, there is bound to be another person who can speak the same language who can help them.

What do you think of this idea?

Yes I know about the altavista translation service, but this is only available for certain languages. The person 2 days ago was asking for help in an Eastern European language (I think) and altavista does not provide translation for this.

A board for different languages is a good idea - however that can also result in more work for the moderators since they are the oney that have to translate the posts then to make sure that there are no bad topics.

Another "hard to decide topic" I guess :D

Well maybe we could have a moderator for each of the most commonly-spoken languages. ;) Ones who are native speakers, so then they will not find it so hard to translate.

We have already mods from different countries.

Some mods and admin, if not all, speak languages other than their native ones.
The problem is that there will always be someone that comes on that speaks a language that none of us knows. Hopefully, in this case, another member may be able to help out, but I don't think it warrants having a mod for every language, as we'd really be to numerous to function as a team, then. Not to mention it not being very probable that we could find somebody for all the different languages.

There are other boards in different languages that provide help and info for Klite, and it's probably the best option for those that do not comprehend any english.
