...that George Bush somehow didn't react "appropriately" at the precise moment Andy Card leaned over to inform him of events at the WTC on 9/11 while Bush was in the company of those schoolchildren - I have always wondered what they would rather he had done.

So - let's hear it.

I think that he did react the way a statesman should react, especially with children present. I think very few present day statesmen would have reacted with such decorum.

What did they expect him to do? Go into a telephone booth and change into a superman outfit?:)

Resign.

Really.

Well, then, quickly - find for me the video of FDR's stoic receipt of the news of Pearl Harbor.

Fake it, if you have to.

Funny thing...four years after Pearl Harbor, we WON THE FUCKING WAR.

Eight years after 9/11, bin Laden roams free and we're still mired in Iraq.

You really want to compare and contrast the styles/results of Bush and FDR?
Really?

Yeah, I gave it all the attention it deserved.
"An ongoing complaint from liberals"?

Like that one little incident is what people have been focusing on for eight years?
Bull.

You attempt to trivialize the outrage over the eight year travesty that was the Bush administration by marginalizing it to reaction to a video clip...that's what you think "liberals" are upset about?

No, not at all.

I merely want you to discuss your having dwelt on it so exhaustively when (one assumes) you have complaints of greater substance to entertain.

I might easily answer you by asking which of us is trivializing, given your preoccupation with the video in question.

What "preoccupation" are you talking about?

Prior to this thread, I don't recall saying anything about that vid clip.

You're just making shit up.

No, I merely used the editorial "you", and you leapt into the breach like the good little liberal water-carrier you are.

You are (in this instance) acting on behalf of the forum's pet five-sided vegetable, whose participation on the board I recognize only peripherally, and usually with this methodology.

I will grant you leave to extract yourself without penalty as it is entirely possible you overlooked this in your fervor to provide loyal opposition.

A whole new (ridiculous) thread seems like an odd way of "peripherally" recognizing someone.

My secret socialist- possibly Muslim- definitely anti-American agenda has been uncovered.

Guess I'll have to kill some Grandmas and register some illegal aliens to regain my street cred.

That'd do it.

BTW-

If you're stuck, I know a few of those sort of Grandmas.

I think his taking a moment was probably the most rational thing he did.

But then I don't know what was going on in his head at the time.

Where do you gt this ongoing complaint stuff? We all knew what was what when the tape of him sitting there for the 6 or 7 minutes surfaced.

It's like seeing a guy run a red light and cause an accident....but it happened 8 years ago.....and he doesn't drive any more.

Hell, who mentioned it....recently ffs. It's only ongoing cuz you brought it up.

Maybe another POTUS would've got right up, cut the class short, and went on about business.

A real man shouldn't have been brought up short by such mundane news, eh?

You are pwning yerself.

The fact is you brought this up so it hasn't been ongoing and yeah it looks rather moronic to sit there and not cut the visit short.

Mmk? Now you can move on and catch up to what everyone else knew years ago.

I remember like it was yesterday. I was older btw.

Now you did jog my memory about Bush forgetting to be President when we were under attack. It was good to know that he could fly in a jet though.

Good job.:01:

You (no doubt unintentionally) help me make a point about you, SHITHEAD, and liberals in general...you aver Bush could "fly in a jet, though", parading your lack of semantic discipline, ignoring the fact SHITHEAD himself can "fly in a jet...".

You and I can "fly in a jet..." as well, but Bush alone (of those mentioned) can pilot a jet.

Just pointing that out.
