I'm looking for recommendations for a FTP client that can do the following.

1. Use multiple connections when downloading a file.
2. Let you change how much bandwidth is allocated to a download as it is downloading.
3. Make it easy to download to different folders.

I could manage without the last one but it would be very useful.

I think this would do the job:

Thanks guys. I've been using BitKinex which does everything I need but I thought it did not do throttling. It turns out I just hadn't looked in the right place and it does do throttling.

I started off using Filezilla. I don't see any way to get it to use more than one connection for a download and I don't see how to get it to throttle.

Go to Edit > Settings > Transfers > Maximum simultaneous transfers

Doesn't that mean the number of files you can download at the same time? I'm talking about the number of connections that can be used for downloading one file.

I only know CuteFTP Pro which has this feature : multi connections even for one only file.

It's very usefull I don't understand why other FTP clients haven't it. I've asked that to the Filezilla Dev and this stupid man answers "this feature is useless, if your server can't reach you max speed at home you should change your server, not your client"

Yes it does, sorry I've totally misunderstood what you want  Filezilla does not have this feature, though I found CuteFTP to be too slow for my taste.

That's the usual reply at Filezilla's forums, I gave up long ago.

Filezilla 3.2.4+ doesn't get along with ProFTPD, while Filezilla 3.2.3 works fine.

Same reply :-) Regardless of ProFTPD being the problem (or not - it works fine with the rest of the clients), to assume that one will change the server he needs to connect to if that's what it takes to continue with filezilla...well :-)
