Alternitives to SCT [Archive]

I think preto.me is a great site and they probably could have filled a gap if they had been able to handle a large influx of users. But with the server problems, that wasn't happening. And despite their solid pretimes, they do not fit the same scene niche as well as SCC.

The fact is 2500+ SCT users are now on SCC, including some of the most active old school members. I think that says it all.

If you say so. I took a quick peek and didn't see what you mean, but you know what you're talking about. That could be partly due to the site seeming stable again. I'm sure you're right. But it doesn't mean much since there were 20,000 users and only 2500 or so made it to SCC...

i would use revtt before pretome and scl. Scc once they hook up there new severs would be your best bet

I was actually just kidding about Scl, Senor. It's interesting the site is even still around.

Anyways, I would definitely look into Pretome myself. Mainly for the no ratio, and the ton of content. Plus the forums are pretty active too. It's an all around good site.

If you want the fast pretimes and speeds ScT was notorious for having, I'd say SCC. They opened 4000 slots to accommodate ex-ScTers, so you may also see known faces on their forums.

Yep, I just got 3 more. RevTT is an excellent backup torrent site and I like that they have a lot of hard to find p2p movies and good long term retention.

BTW, I was interested in PTM.. but I heard that the UI sucks. What frontend do they use? TS?

If I remember correctly, there's an option in your profile to move or hide things such as the user info, search, stats, etc.

Wish there was a good alternative (sct V2). SCC is not it. Everyone jumps on everything right away then it just fades out. Things I could find on sct, I can't find on scc, or it isn't well seeded (older stuff). TL is the only good alternative I've found so far, but I'm not happy about that.

I'm surprised GFT hasn't been mentioned as an alternative to ScT.

After all, according to FSF, it was the third highest (after FTN and ScT) requested private tracker of 2009.

My first instinct was to call BS as Draedz or whatever his name used to be used to randomly spam unintelligible one liners that were completely random and false (like ITN coming back when there was absolutely no mention of it at all). In addition no one on the ScT "refugee" forums seems to know a flying fuck about anything pertaining to ScT v2.

Then I saw multiple different people post here talking about this site, so unless this is some massive collaborative hoax I am very confused :unsure:
