Halo 2 will be Xbox only in 2004
They will probably port it to PC thereafter like Halo PC

Halo is only online for PC with no co-op play
Halo 2 will be only for Xbox with online play through Xbox Live. That&#39;s partly why it&#39;s taking so long.

hey, welcome to the forum. now, where did u get it? if it was from kazaa, its corrupt. get it from bittorrent or emule. search around to find excellent guides on these topics

Go to this address: http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/main.html and download and install CDmage. Use it to scan for errors and fix corrupt sectors. Better than downloading it again (although you should use bittorrent for CD images in the future).

yea, u let halo update as u enter mp, and then get the 1.01 crack, if that doesn&#39;t work, try the 1.02 crack

I&#39;m having trouble hosting a server on halo. I am able to connect to other servers (using abu&#39;s method) but I can&#39;t seem to create a server. When I click create Internet game in multiplayer, I can choose all the settings and stuff, and it even loads the map, but no one ever joins the game. This leads me to belive that players can&#39;t see it on the server list, or can&#39;t connect for whatever reason. I&#39;m behind a linksys router, and the game is displaying my LAN IP (192.168.1.123) and not my ISP IP (68.xxx.xx). I don&#39;t know if I need to forward ports or anything, or if it just can&#39;t be done behind a router. Thanks for any help :)

You can type any combination of letters and numbers, as long as you fill all of the boxes, and it will install. However, you will not be able to play online unless you follow Abu&#39;s advice in his first post.

Yes, That&#39;s fine...Don&#39;t worry about fake or corrupted files, you can trust suprnova. After you download the game it will probably have like 100 files in .001 .002 etc. files. All you have to do is install winrar or if you already have it right click one of the .001 files and click open with, then chose winrar. Then you should know what to do...if you don&#39;t you can always ask. :)

ok....i finished d/l "Halo_Combat_Evolved-FLT" it has all the .001 etc. files, in the Info file it says to burn the .cue, now i know what a cue and bin are but....shouldnt a .bin be one file not 50 dif. files? and were would i get the corosponding .cue file,

I can seem to watch that "Video Log" the Chief picks up before "The Flood". It has this big chunk of black in the middle, but the lower and upper halfs are perfectly clear. Is this normal? Anyone know what part i&#39;m talking about?

Played Halo for a while. Then the game froze and a commented that the game would start in some sort of safe mode. I have all sound but the graphics are just shades of gray and look like an inverted model. I&#39;ve tried everything (also commandline issues) but i can&#39;t seem to get higher detaillevels or colours back.

Problems occured when i had the old drivers for my ATI card. I&#39;ve tried everything including installing pathes for Halo 1.2 new ATI drivers 3.7 but nothing seems to work.

Looks to me the game seems to force itself in a very low resolution mode. Little bit the same as a designers mode for CS1.5 models

Maybe, since it&#39;s a microsoft game, it installed something in the registry which keeps pushing a certain videosetting. All other games show no problems

A strange problem occured attempting to play Halo with my PC ...

Downloaded it, installed it, started it, and it claimed my PC was below the minimum specifications (which it&#39;s not), so I resumed play and a fatal error occured. This error was avoided after I updated my graphic drivers, but another error appeared, so I simply un-installed the game. :(

For everbody with the same problems as i had with the graphics

Thanks to the hind from &#39;Muchspl2&#39; i changed the settings of my graphic card to NO anti-alaising. That did the trick. Halo got back it&#39;s original colours. Funny thing is when i changed the the settings back to using anti-alaising the game still performs well. Probably this is one of those glitches Microsoft is famous about.

Anyway changing Aliasing settings did the trick for me. I got me a blast last night killing convenants

Halo doesn&#39;t like some video cards, my friend had a TNT2 nVidia 32mb, and the game said it had a bad driver, nothing worked....so he had to buy a new video card....look in the File some were in the Halo directory for a list of supported Video card types...or u could prob. find it on line

I decided to see how it is on PC, so i got the demo and i try to run it...but it doesnt do anything. I see the first screen that says Halo, then the music runs, but the screen is all black and i cant see anything. Ive got DirectX9.0b and almost certain that my PC meets all the requirements (the only thing im not too sure about is the graphics card...but im sure its pretty good.)

I need a way to change the cdkey without re-installing. I got a legit cd-key but i just dont have the game anymore. And ive already got it installed, but with just a fake cd-key. Is there a way i can change it somehow, with the registry or something? And if i download the flt version then reinstall it with the real cd key then would this still work? Pleeeease help me,

It will sometimes have "cracked", "flt", or something like that in the title, but just connecting and if it doesnt come up with an invalid cd key error, will work.

you can play halo online (for xbox)...

just download gamespyarcade from gamespy.com, connect your xbox to your pc using systemlink cable or ethernet, and join a game..
first you join a game and then you goto (in halo) multiplayer&#092;systemlink, and the game will be there...

note-only play if you have highspeed internet

important-YOU MUST HAVE A ROUTER.(so that ur comp and ur xbox can be online at the same time...)

i downloaded FLT Halo .bin and .cue off kazaa lite. Took me fk&#39;n ages on my 56k modem which usually dl&#39;s a constant 5 - 6 kbs.

i burned using alcohol 120% and Nero ...(why???? u&#39;ll find out soon read on)

the problem is
when the cd loads, and i start installing Halo, i insert the serial blah blah blah then once it gets to about 10-30 % (sumwhr between there) it sez this.

Setup failed to extract files from
D:&#092;FilesCab&#092;Cab1.CAB. This is most likely caused by low memory or a corrupt cabinet file.
Please restart your computer and run setup again

but then i exit the program , ran it again and stuck the bin and cue in and it sed there were no corrupted files... yahh&#33;&#33;&#33; so i figured out how to mount on alchol and its still fuc&#036;K&#036;@ up during the installation

you need to fix it (if you can :D) with cdmage then get daemon tools and try to mount it

I guess not, this is Kazaa, one of the largest filesharing progarms. Its likely if they are talking in the Kazaa forums they download their games from Kazaa.

I downloaded the flt Halo game and copied it to my HD. The icon is a white box with a blue edge around it. When I clicked on it I got a black DOS looking window? Do I need to download something to open this file or burn it onto a CD or something :ph34r: :huh: :blink:

In the folder, click on Tools, then Folder Options. Click on the View tab, and make sure "Hide file extensions for known file types" is unchecked.

The extension is the .xxx at the end of the file. Take the file, and rename it&#39;s extention to .bin or .iso, try them both. Then use Nero (if you want to burn it) or use Alcohol 120% and mount it (if you&#39;d rather not burn it).

Most times poor speeds on bittorent are because the user is behind a router and the ports it uses arnt forwarded, its all there in the bittorent section.

Are there any cheats for Halo?

No, there are no actual button Cheats for Halo. There are Easter Eggs, glitches, and tricks however. Look here for some fun tricks, Easter Eggs and glitches to perform. Some of those glitches can give you special abilities like unlimited health or ammo, but they were unintentionally put into the game, and can’t be considered cheats. Anyone who claims to have found a cheat is not telling the truth.



How do people hack Halo?

Halo is hacked by using a mod chip. However, mod chips void the Xbox&#39;s warranty, and can ruin the system.

Do I receive anything for beating the game on Legendary?

If The Maw, which is the last level of Halo, is beaten on Legendary, you can view an alternate ending video to the game. It is just a small clip meant to be funny, showing a blue Elite and Sgt Johnson fighting over an Assault Rifle, then as the Pillar of Autumn begins to explode, and they hug.



Is Halo playable on Xbox Live?

Short answer, no. Halo was released a full year before Xbox Live, and is not compatible with it. However, Halo can be played through the XBC tunnel, which is another internet gaming site. Halo is also playable through the Gamespy tunnel.



I am having trouble with the flood. How do I kill them?

First you are going to need an assault rifle, shotgun and lot of grenades. When you see a big wave of flood coming find a corner or spot with you’re back against the wall quickly. Then you make sure your shotgun is fully loaded. When they start coming for you start shooting them as quickly as possible. Reload you’re shotgun after 3 or 4 shots so you won’t have a longer reload time. The floods carry an immense number of ammo. Grab as much as you can, and don’t forget to throw some grenades when it gets crazy. Use the assault rifle on the Infection Forms that jump up at you, and every time you see one of the Carriers that blow up shoot them with the Assault Rifle before they get close to you. If you are lucky they will take out some of there own with there explosions. Make sure you have a great hiding spot. One that’s not in the open really in a corner in which only a few flood can come in and hurt you. When you are in an open level and you want to snipe out the flood, don’t use the sniper rifle, it has no effect on them. You can empty entire clips on them and it won’t affect them. Use any other weapon.

What is a Halo Clan?

A clan is a group of people that get together to play a game. In this case, Halo. They may get together on split screen, LAN, online, or anywhere else they can play. Some clans are very laid back, and just try to have fun, while others are sore winners and losers, and spam to get people to join their group. It’s up to you to choose the right clan when you decide to get involved with one.



Is there such a thing as Halo 1.5?

Well, yes there is, but it’s not what many people think it is. Halo 1.5 was rumored to be an update for the Xbox version of Halo, with lots of new content. That was completely false however. The software Bungie used to make Halo with makes it impossible to make add-ons to the game, so there will never be an update to Xbox&#39;s Halo. The real Halo 1.5 was the code name for one of the Halo PC beta tests. However, it leaked onto the internet, and many people downloaded it. If you do happen to find the beta, I suggest you do not download it, because it is an illegal release of a beta not meant for the public, and you could be charged with a crime.



Can I carry more then two weapons in Halo?

Yes, but only on one level, the Pillar of Autumn. It is a glitch that lets you pick up two weapons, in addition to the pistol given to you by the Captain. You can view the video showing how to complete the glitch here.



When is Halo PC coming out?

It’s out now&#33; Halo PC can be purchased anywhere that video games are sold at. Halo has also been released for the Mac, and sports the same features as the PC version.



What is new on Halo PC?

There is a lot of new content on Halo PC, including six new maps. They are Timberland, a forest level, Infinity, a canyon, Death Island, which is like the Silent Cartographer, Gephyrophobia, a huge bridge, Danger Canyon, yet another canyon level, and Ice Fields, which is another Ice level. There are also two new weapons, the Fuel Rod Gun, which the Hunters use, and the Flamethrower. There are three new multiplayer vehicles. I heard there are novels about Halo. Is that true?

Yes. Three novels based around the story of Halo have been released. The first, titled The Fall of Reach explains what was happening prior to the game. The second book, The Flood, is based on the game itself, but it goes into more detail, and explains what is happening from the perspectives of the marines and Covenant. The third book, First Strike, explains the story between the games of Halo and Halo 2. The Fall of Reach and First Strike were both written by Eric Nylund, and The Flood was written by William Dietz. You can buy the novels at every major bookseller.



Will there be a movie made about Halo?

Not at this time. Bungie has announced that they do not plan to sell the rights of Halo to any movie company, since so many great video games have been made into poor movies, and Bungie does not want Halo to meet that fate. There is a possibility that a movie could be made eventually, although the chances are not very good. Do not expect a Halo movie anytime soon. When is Halo 2 going to be released?

Is 343 Guilty Spark back in Halo 2?

It is not confirmed or denied by Bungie, but they hinted that he will be back, since he is shown flying away at the end of the original Halo game.



What new Races are there in Halo 2?

The Covenant Brutes, which have the smarts of Elites and power of Hunters, and the Prophets, the Covenant religious leadership are known to make an appearance in Halo 2. You can see concept art of them here.



What new weapons are in Halo 2?

The Sub-Machine Gun, which has a high rate of fire but is inaccurate, and the Battle Rifle, which looks like an upgraded Assault Rifle with a scope but slower rate of fire. The Covenant also has new weapons. The Brutes have a weapon that seems to be like a Plasma Rifle or Fuel Rod Gun, but its unknown if it will be usable or not. The other known Covenant addition is a purple weapon that was seen being used by Elites in a video segment at X03. But that’s all that is known about it. What new vehicles are in Halo 2?

There will be several new types of Warthogs: The Snowhog is white and has treads but is currently thought to be unarmed, the Junglehog is a camouflage version of the Warthog with upgraded tires and armor, the Troophog is a troop carrier version of the Warthog, with the back LAGG replaced with seats, but it&#39;s also unarmed. Then there is the original Warthog without a weapon, and there is a Warthog with a mounted Gauss Rifle, which is like a rocket launcher. There is also an ATV, which is unarmed, but the Master Chief can fire any one-handed gun while riding it, the Covenant Shadow is a Covenant version of the Warthog with a plasma weapon on the back instead of a Human weapon, the Creep is a Covenant armored personnel carrier, with a mounted plasma weapon, and there is a new Covenant dropship, the Phantom, which is bigger and more well armed then its Halo 1 counterpart. Will Captain Keyes be back in Halo 2?

Captain Keyes died in the first Halo, and his body blew up with the ring. Electronic Gaming Monthly has said there is a 0.001% chance of his return, and Bungie has said he’s gone. Captain Keyes will not be back in Halo 2.



Will the flood be back in Halo 2?

Yes, the Flood will tie into the storyline of Halo 2, and will make another appearance, but it’s not known to what extent, or how they will return.



What is Halo 2&#39;s storyline?

Not much is known but we know the Earth is attacked, but at one point the assault will end, the Flood return, at least one other Halo comes into play, and the war is taken to the Covenant. Bungie has said that much more of the Covenant and Forerunner history will be revealed in Halo 2.



Will there be a public beta test for Halo 2?

No, there will not. The only people that will be testing Halo 2 are top Bungie and Microsoft employees, and every employee that does participate in the test has to sign a non-disclosure agreement. So anyone who talks about knowing a Halo 2 beta tester, or says they are one, is not telling the truth.



How is the Artificial Intelligence improved in Halo 2?

The Covenant will scurry under ledges, leap over obstacles, and climb up structures. They&#39;ll fluidly move with animal-like grace while talking and coordinating amongst their squads. They&#39;ll even use flashlights to hunt down the Master Chief in the darkness. The Human forces will also be smarter in Halo 2 though. They&#39;ll work better as a team and flip over objects to create cover. The Marines will also know how to call in support from a Warthog or point out an enemy sniper for an ally to take down. Halo 2&#39;s AI is expected to be revolutionary for the games industry.



Will more SPARTANs be in Halo 2?

Bungie has not confirmed or denied it. But there are some SPARTANs still alive, according to the newest Halo novel, Halo: First Strike. So, there could be some SPARTANs in Halo 2. We will have to wait and see.



Will the Halo 2 environments be interactive?

Yes, they will be. In Halo 2, there will be destructible objects to add to the realism and strategy. Windows, columns and doors will shatter when they take damage. Enemy soldiers will be able to recognize these objects and strategically destroy them to make the player an easier target. In addition, the Master Chief will be able to shoot out lights and hide in the shadows when stealth makes more sense than confrontation. In the video released at X03, pillars can be seen getting thrown across a room when a grenade goes off nearby, and in the E3 demo, the same effect occurs with tables. Both are good examples of the new environment interaction.



What new abilities does the Master Chief have in Halo 2?

In Halo 2 the Master Chief can put down his weapon and sprint for a short amount of time, he can shoot out lights and hide in the darkness; he can climb certain things, and flip over objects to create cover. He can shoot 2 weapons at one time as long as each weapon only takes one hand to hold. Master Chief can also hold 2 different guns at the same time under the same circumstances. The Chief can also jump on to moving vehicles and hijack them by either kicking the driver out or shooting them out.



Why is Sgt. Johnson in Halo 2? Didn&#39;t he die in Halo?

Sgt Johnson, or Sarge, as he is known, was loved by Bungie and fans alike. Although he died in the legendary ending movie, that was just for laughs, and was not part of the plot. In reality, Sgt Johnson survived the Flood, the destruction of Halo, and made it into Halo 2’s storyline. To understand the full story behind it, read the latest Halo novel, First Strike.



What does the box art for Halo 2 look like?

As of now Bungie has made no official cover art. Many websites have put up art, but it has all been made by fans or the website that posted it. Nothing official has been released.



When will Bungie release a playable Halo 2 demo?

Bungie has stated that there are no plans to release a playable demo in the near future, since they want the player to be more surprised of the new game play when they get the full game, and a demo would eliminate that surprise. A demo will probably not be released until the full game is already on the shelves.



Halo&#39;s subtitle was "Combat Evolved". What is Halo 2&#39;s subtitle?

Bungie has not released any official subtitle to Halo 2 yet. Several sites are reporting that it is "Broken Covenant", but that is not being confirmed by Bungie as the actual subtitle. It is not even known yet if Halo 2 will have a subtitle. The world will have to just wait and see.

when they start comming for you start shooting them as quickly as possible...reload youre shotgun after 3 or 4 shots so you wont have to do the long reload .....the flood carrie an immense number of amoo ...grab some as much as you can dont forget to throw some grenades when it gets crazy .....use the assault rifle on the lil ones that jump up at you ....and everytime you see one of the big blobs that blow up shoot them with th AR before they get close to you ...if you are lucky they will take out some of there own with there explosions .....and make shure you have a great hiding spot one thats not in the open really in a corner in wich only a few flooders can come in and hurt you....when you are in an open level and you want to snipe out the flood ....dont use the sniper rifle ..it has no effect on them

interesting. maybe not worth 1 hr of ur time, but still ok.

btw, the best way to kill flood is not with a assault rifle. u waste too many ammo that way. the best gun combo is pistol and shotgun. the shotgun kills the big guys, and u can pistol snipe them from far away. as for the little bulb things, they just take 1 shot, and a whole hoard of them die from 1 poping and exploding the others. if they do hit u, it&#39;s not very deadly. ur armor is more than capable to handle it.



most of ur guide we already know bout. not to be offensive or anything, but u prob had something better to do in that 1hr u just spent.

w00t, I got it to work but now when i&#39;m installing the game it stops at 48% and tells me that it could not extract the file cab3.cab So can someone upload cab3.cab from their halo game to my ftp server? Please?&#33;

New stuff about Halo 2

Battle rifle (the new standard gun) has even better accuracy and slower rate of fire with a scope.

Submachine gun has less accuracy with high-speed firepower.

Energy carbines give the Covenant sniper abilities (you can use them too).

You can now use energy swords.

You can use the R trigger to deliver uppercuts.

You can lock-on to target by waiting for the tageting sensor to turn red and deliver one-hit kills.

The rocket launcher now has homing missiles.

The needler is more deadly.

Ghosts have turbo-boost.

A new Covenant enemy called Prophets sit in hovering chairs, stratgically leading the enemy.

Another called Brutes are armored large warriors that smaller than Hunters but are deadlier than Elites.

You can kill lights and hide in shadows to evade detection but the Covenant wcan search for you with flashlights.

Your team will flip objects over for cover and also call in sniper and Warthog fire.

Enemies shoot through destructible objects to get to you. They will also be more coordinated as a team.

In multiplayer....

It&#39;s Spartans (humans) vs. Elites (aliens).

You can tweak your armor and color scheme.

Form clans on Xbox Live or Bungie.net. Lan games support 16 players.

You can target fusion cores that deliver huge explosions.

Halo is the best game of all time. I played this game more than all the games i&#39;ve played in my life, and enjoyed it. Seriously. I can&#39;t wait till halo 2 i&#39;ll be playing it so much.
Doom III wase&#39;nt nearly as good as I thought it would be and got board at times playing it. I don&#39;t know too much about Half-Life 2 but im not a Half-Life fan so I really don&#39;t care about the game, though it does look good by the screenis, not as good as Halo 2 will probably be.

I think what makes Halo so good is that you are immersed in the game.

It has very good gameplay and an involving story.

HL2 doesn&#39;t look bad at all but I noticed that what makes it look good is really just sharper graphics. The story of Half-Life wasn&#39;t all that great. TBH I think the best thing about HL is Counterstrike.

The main thing about Doom III is the enemies. They look like something out of Silent Hill.

Halo beats all of them because it makes you feel like you are in a struggle.
As I said before, it&#39;s like a movie.

Someone should make a movie btw.
