Only with my car. Who wants to hassle with insurance and all that, "you were driving drunk again" BS? Nuns are notorious FAKERS anyway!

Naw...I seed 1/1 on all torrents before I dump them. Old habit...hard to break. :)

Yeah I hit a shot and then I run back (defense is a part of the game too, ya know).

PS: I'm still not as cool as you.

Nice one pone!

Never...I may not seed back to a 1:1 ratio but at least for the amount of time required...

Yes, firstly I buffer my account, then I h&r. Repeat process. Then I cheat ratio and finally I insult some staff randomly :S

Do you HIT and RUN?

Only on trackers that don't need me to seed - SCC, for example. Otherwise, I try to seed as much as possible, with public torrents having a higher priority than private ones.

I've gotten wrongfully banned for that as well. My damn little brother loves to close my torrents on me.

When I first started downloading, I thought uploading would get me in trouble, so I would cut the torrent after I saw it completed.

I don't hit and run any more. I've gone as far as redownloading files off of usenet just to seed to get out of the pink on FTN for torrents that were over a year old and probably only a few hours shy of the informal requirements. There was a streak back then that I was having HD problems and files kept getting corrupted and my Mac was bugging out so I had to reinstall every couple of days. FUBAR'ed HD that had to be replaced (got a new PC anyway).

Yer not in the "doghouse" nearly as much as I am...I voted in favor of the (attempted) invite seller and even argued for him. :(

Anyone know what sear wants for Christmas?

Funkin'

Hey, I voted in his favor too(to be DP'd though). And I'll stick by my vote. Until there's actual proof that he sold an invite, I gotta believe he made that thread to look "cool" in the eyes of that sites community. So I don't think his act of child-like acceptance should affect his membership here.

Now, would I vouch for him, or invite him to any site? Not at all. Someone that would go to such lengths to be accepted by a trading/invite selling community is not someone I would want in my invite tree.

megabyteme
12-17-2009, 04:26 PM
I think most of us agree with that. I said early on that I would not be able to invite him (anytime soon- which really means never) and most of us are pretty careful about who we invite anywhere.

I know cine and Cabalo will never let him make a [req] without pointing out his "attempt". Those guys don't ever miss anything like that.

The kid has been neutered. I just don't like having sear mad at, or disappointed with me... :(

Edit- am I the only one who has seen enough pr0n to see "being DP'd" as a REALLY severe punishment?

I try not to. It's an old habit from the Sct days. I had a perfect record for hit7running in Sct.

I even got a free invite for having 0 hit&runs last Christmas and for posting in the "Christmas Tree" thread.

I inadvertantly used to when I first started torrenting and didn't know what I was doing... I assumed that as I was downloading then I was sharing and it was ok to stop when I'd gotten what I was after...

We all live and learn though... these days I just leave it running till I've managed to seed back a full share, or if it's been something hard to find then I'll leave it seeding in case anyone else is looking for it :)

I did get one Hit and Run warning before but this was because I was fairly new to the system and thus I was confused about how it worked, anyhow things ended well so yeh :)

No, not even in public trackers. Sometimes i stop them before 1:1 tho, like when i need my full upload speed for a private tracker but i always restart the upload later when the connection is idle.
My guilty pleasure btw is to seed a long forgotten torrent that has a few leechers but no seeder

Well it depends how "Hit'n'run" is defined.

If I download an old movie with only one seeder. And it's realistic that at least one will download the torrent for every second week, how is it realsitic for me to seed? I use a private connection then I have no intention to seed for 24 hours per day. I usually "pay back" by seeding new torrents more.
