i burnt a d/l SVCD to DVD+RW (after encoding) and it works fine on my PC but on my TV it pauses every few seconds and after a few minutes it stops and says the disk is dirty. Why is this?

Check which media works with your DVDplayer.
My dansai wont play data safe.

But if the media is not supported, the disk wouldn't even start, would it? I have already burnt a movie which was only out of sync, but played fine, on this media

All i know is that the datasafe play on my dansai but errors(squares and slight pauses ecspecially near the end of movie) occur. So it plays, but on my sons philips none of the errors show.

Cant really be of more help, but local shop says all the copiers use Ritek dvdr's

Just a note the same Dvdr played OK on other sons Xbox(unchipped)

Yeah mate ritek g04 are pretty good..i havnt made a coaster with one yet.

Which one do you mean, none of them are g04?

Yeah mate it does with the dvdr- on the page i linked.All the g04 means is generation 4 of the ritek disc.The dvdr+ will most prob be g4 for aswell.Dvdr- are cheaper anyway and slightly more compatible.Its up to you mate anyway.They also do small sample pack of like 5 or ten different brands so u can find the best one for you. :D

my DVD Burner is only for dvd+ not dvd-
there isn't a g4 ritek either
