As those of you from the UK might have heard the Conservitive leader IDS have recently been austed from leadership. until they find a new one he stays where he is. Who do you think should take his place ?

Thought Tony blair was in charge of the Conservatives?

Failing him it is Hobson's choice. Who is there left? Clarke is experienced but too pro-Europe for half the party and Redwood and co. are too anti-Europe for the other half. Portillo is a possible but probably got too many skeletons for the blue rinse brigade.

Boris Johnstone - he would make an interesting leader!! Put some eccentricity back into British politics.

apparently Michalle Heseltine was considering put himself forward for leadership, trouble he's too old and he's full of old party policy which the Brittish public want to foget.

Tony Blair is in charge of the New Labour party.

But then again, with the way the Labour government has been acting, it's easy to see how someone can mistake them

I think that's what Biggles was implying ;)

I don't much care who succeeds IDS, to be honest, just so long as it's not that greaseball Portaloo. He makes my skin crawl.

I think its between Ken Clarke and Michael Howard. I don't think they will seriously consider Michael Portillo, because he's been involved in scandals, managed to lose one of the safest conservative seats (my home borough) and because he's a complete gimp.
I saw a bit of Michael Howard announcing his candidacy and I was quite impressed, I think he's the one i'd put my money on.

It doesn't matter much, they won't win the next election anyway.
Laubor maybe be going down rapidly, tory isn't going up though. But it doesn't matter, what's the difference between the two?

Maggie Thatcher, then she can ball's the country up again. The difference between Labour & Conservatives,Labour (1)National Minimum wage the tory's refused to do this saying business's would collapse (Rubbish) (2)Heating allowances for the elderly which I might add is £300 this year.(3)Free TV licences for the pensioners.
well in all the years of destroying our country ,the tory's care about 1 thing low taxes, but they don't tell you what cut's are needed to pay for the lower tax cut's.

It's going to be Michael Howard.

Only one question remains to be answered...

Did you threaten to overrule him?
