Putting .avi

Hey All,

I was just wondering is it acutally possible to put a .avi file onto a blank cd for it to work on a DVD player?

I tried that in the past, and it didn't work, so I think you'd have to convert it first.

You need to convert it to mpeg2 format first.I use mainconcept mpeg converter and then cyberlink powerproducer to do it. :)

Thanks to the both of you for your help. Whenever I convert it to the mpeg2 format can I just put it unto a blank cd? Or do I have to buy special DVD-R's?

There are dvd players that support divx.. Like the kiss player there are some topics on that hardware!
