I noticed that and was going to report my own post to ask what's up, but tried "previewing" another post with FSF's full name on it and it got censored, so I just assumed they removed E's full name from the blacklist.

Looks like the little kiddies don't like to share, but it will take more than their lame botnet software to keep SCC down for long. And wow I'm so very impressed they got info on SCC that most people could also get with a little digging around, like the names of the staff there that any member can look up. Why doesn't the scene just learn to live with p2p sites, even if they ever managed to take SCC down (which they won't) they are so many 0day trackers flooding the market it wouldn't even make a huge difference.

If i remember correctly, this kid was offering scene axx to SCC on their irc but SCC politely turned his offer down....after that he got mad and make a scenenotice which is quite retarded.

Nope, there was a scene notice uploaded to SCC this morning, telling that the site will go down, giving its IPS to the Scene etc.... so it's just a DDOS again.

Works for me now, as per cine's post. Try removing the "www." if it doesn't load for you.

SCC is back up already if you leave out the www, they have a temporary irc up, and the site should be fully restored within a day. So I guess the scene kiddies were wasting their time, but wasting time should be easy enough for anyone who's unemployed and playing internet on their parents computer.
why does removing www get you through to the site. what exactly does the www do?

the point of scene notice is post a site/irc ip which every1 obviously know and staff's name? And if you have already read these comments made by users, you should understand by now.

SCC's functionality's going to keep on bouncing like a ball as long as it's being attacked.
No offense, but I think it's probably better to avoid the "it works", "now it's down" posts and use this thread for more important news regarding their downtime.

I hope that they ban this idiot who is behind this DDOS attack.
They can simply ping the login page and the main server page over and over, which is more likely with a botnet capable of bringing all of SCC's servers down.

I'm curious if they ever considered that the server might not even be getting dos attacked in the first place.
*Not saying it isn't but just considering....
Many times when a site switches source codes the server gets boggled down by new changes.
The site loads more pages than before...
The site has more queries than before...
The site may be loading more images than it used to...
Activity on the site may have increased due to FreeLeech etc...
Most of the time I notice sites say they are getting dos attacked it isnt even the case.
Its just a fact that the server cannot keepup with the changes that were made recently.
It takes a while to get the settings correct after making these types of changes.
Just because the test site didn't get boggled down with 1000 users using it doesn't mean the same will happen when everyone is using it.
Also just because you may or may not be using less sql queries than before doesn't mean the server can handle things as well.
I just find it odd that these dos attacks started upon them swapping to their new source code for all users to see.
Either case if it is a dos attack hopefully whoever is doing it gives up soon cause its a pain to see a site going up and down on the fly repeatedly for whatever the reason.
