View Full Version : [Giveaway] What.cd invite

KRink

I only have one invite, so post the usual speedtest and your most used tracker ratios, with today's date. What.cd is a mp3 tracker, with lots of content and similar to waffles.fm.

Also please don't ask for inv. if you're already a member @ what.cd, or you know that you wont use the site. Only ask for the inv. if you intend to maintain a good ratio, and use the site for personal use, and don't pm me about this giveaway, post in the open.

*You can be invite to what.cd from their IRC channel if u complete an interview unless you are from a banned country, so I will give the invite to someone who can't join the irc channel because there country is banned.

Firstly, What.cd isn't an "MP3 tracker", it's a music tracker offering albums in many different formats.

Secondly, I'd keep the invite for people whose country's banned from the IRC interview for whatever reason. It doesn't take much effort to take the interview and get invited by a staff member.

ps : i`m a grate guy watch at my rep points :)

Your rep points only tell me you've given plenty of invites away :P

Keep in mind that What comes down hard on people doing giveaways here. Also, keep in mind half the people here looking for invites will be traders or scumbags of some sort, and they're pretty harsh on people who invite those folk too. Just a heads up.

You're waaay to organized and "rehearsed " at this sort of thing to elicit very much confidence from me ( a slide show?).
Not to mention http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/425387-HAVE-TT-WANT-pedros-exigo-FTN among others

Hi,

i would like to join what.cd..

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/509/iptorrents1288578803882.png

because i am from india and apparently india is banned from irc (i dont understand the logic behind this), the only way i can join what.cd is through an invite. And as u can see from my ratio that i maintain good ratios..

for a last few months i was not active in the torrent world ( this is due to my exam which was on 30th oct.) but i have a lot of free time now and i could really use a good music tracker.

speedtest..
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1012161638.png (http://www.speedtest.net)

though i should warn you these test results are not good.. somehow speedtest screws up the mobile broadband speed results..
the actual speed i get for both download and upload is between 2 and 2.5mbps.. i tested for like 10 times and got similar results..

is anyone else having problems of similar kind with speedtest.net? ( showing way more download speed than what u actually get.. (i am using mobile broadband))
..or should i just keep my mouth shut..:P and tell ppl i've got great speeds..

because i am from india and apparently india is banned from irc (i dont understand the logic behind this)

It's because (without accusing you of anything), many people from your same country have been caught cheating, trading or selling, and thus the What.cd staff removed their access to the IRC interview, which they see as a privilege and not a right.

I didn't know about this either, so I will only give the invite to someone who cannot join the irc chan. because their country is banned.

Feel free to ask a staff member if you have doubts about any of your applicants. They can check their IPs and see if he's telling the truth.

well im interested what.cd invite too.
i try to get one from the IRC but israel is banned too, what a surprise.
i know i dont have fast connection but with the right upload with 40kb\s, and sometimes use seedbox i success to save my ratio positive.

this is my ST:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1012560880.png

my ratios:
FTN - http://img812.imageshack.us/i/ftnu.jpg/
PISEXY - http://img408.imageshack.us/i/pisexy.jpg/
look at the "join date".

TL - http://img810.imageshack.us/i/17083745.jpg/
its a new account, i know the ratio is only! with my connection.

i know you dont have reason to give my an invite because everybody here have
10MBITS++ connection at home and in israel its not that widespread.
so i hope you think about the things :)

thanks.

Nope, it doesn't ban them from the tracker, only from the IRC interview. You can still get in if invited.

Well, What.cd has 131,844 users at this moment ( 05-11-10 ). I think KRink should be careful of giving invites here. I once did a giveaway on a Danish version of FST. Somehow What.cd found the forum where I did giveaways and then banned me. I had the same nickname on the Danish version of FST and on What.cd. I spoke with them on IRC, they were kind to open my aacount, but they disabled my invites :(

only from the invites channel not from the tracker

The condition for receiving the invite was that your country had to be banned from the invite channel... precisely because otherwise, you could just go there and get invited that way instead.

Anyway, the criteria was clear, and it was KRink's invite. If he decided to give it to Titure, there's nothing you can do, mamado. Accept it and move on.

I just wanted to post and warn anyone who is thinking about doing a giveaway here on FST in the future. Both mine and Titure's accounts were disabled because another user here on FST informed what.cd staff of this giveaway, and I am absolutely sure of this. It really is sad to see how low some users go here on FST just to get a kick at screwing someone over. It was known to me the risks of giving away an invite to what.cd, but the chance to give back to a community that has helped me in the past superseded the restrictions imposed by tracker staff at what.cd. However because of this incident, I will no longer be doing giveaways publicly, ever - and I am disassociating myself form FST completely.

In this case, I was told by tracker staff that I was "force-fed" the rules, yet was oblivious to them, thus justifying a perma-ban for me and Titure - and I am not saying this is incorrect, that I didn't break their rules - I am saying that this never would have happened (getting accounts disabled) if a certain user here on FST would have informed the staff of the giveaway and made his deliberate post, which purpose was so the staff could say "we told you so! You were told the rules but you went ahead anyways!" when they identified me. So if you're doing a giveaway and someone makes a seeminly innocent post warning you about rules and getting banned etc, it is possible and even likely that these individuals will be the ones trying to get you banned.

I would advise anyone who is thinking of giving away invites in the future to use PMs only because by posting info publicly like ratios, speedtest (has your ip and country), etc. it makes it easier for tracker staff to track you down, even if you use completely different information when you register. Also if you can spoof you ip by using TOR, proxy tunneling, or a VPN when you log into FST, they wont be able to associate your ip on the tracker with your account on FST.

In my mind, being a Rat/Informant is the lowest possible piece of filth someone can be, and I despise these people.

If anyone's curious, I'm the one who's been accused of being the informant

Neglecting the fact that I warned you here:

Keep in mind that What comes down hard on people doing giveaways here. Also, keep in mind half the people here looking for invites will be traders or scumbags of some sort, and they're pretty harsh on people who invite those folk too. Just a heads up.

So if you're doing a giveaway and someone makes a seeminly innocent post warning you about rules and getting banned etc, it is possible and even likely that these individuals will be the ones trying to get you banned.
Or, you know, maybe because we know it'll get you banned and want to give you a chance to not be banned?

I find it pretty funny that you think someone "snitched" on you two weeks later, as if their staff don't already keep an eye on this place. I simply gave you advice which you chose not to take, and if you somehow interpret that as you being told the rules so you could be banned, well, it's not really my fault that you're delusional.

but the chance to give back to a community that has helped me in the past superseded the restrictions imposed by tracker staff at what.cd.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out there bud.

Oh, and please, let me know how my impending ban from FST is coming along

I'm sorry hear this Krink. However let me tell you sometimes the tracker staff also frequents this place and somehow may have figured it out.The staff of what.cd is bit paranoid and sometimes will go to great lengths to enforce rules.
I've become a member of many hard-to-get-into sites because of FST members like you who chose to giveaway invites so please don't be discouraged. But I agree with you that PMs is the best way to go about doing it.
It'll be difficult to get back into what.cd coz i hear they log everything and even if you get re-invited they'll shut down your account if you are not careful

You knew the rules. You knew the risk for not following those rules. You chose to ignore those who tried to warn you. You got caught, so take your punishment. Stop crying like a little girl and blaming your troubles on someone else. Join waffles, like the rest of the What.cd Ban Club.

I doubt anyone had to snitch on you. There's a good reason you don't see many what.cd invite offers, or filled requests. What.cd staff spend an inordinate amount of time "policing" almost every single BT related forum and they have developed a talent of being able to track down users offering their invites. Looks like you found that out the hard way.

well KRink i feel for u, its ridiculous to have lost ur way in trying to help someone else without any apparent motive

and as for the informant i think he shud have dropped a PM written in very simple english stating what might happen if u continue this giveaway......but its just me
and as far as the trackers rules are concern, i give a damn to their rules, what right to they have to create rules for the portal whose very existence is based on piracy when they themselves are rejecting the MPAA and RIAA copyright rules, they shud be reminded of that old saying "charity begins from home" but having said that i do not reject the necessity of the rules which maintain the discipline, without which humans when fall into each other wud destroy everything
i am not contradicting myself rules shud be there but if anyone is braking them they shud be warned instead of banned, in this case invite privileges restriction wud have been fair, trackers can accept a little bit of rule breaking as music industry can accept a little bit of piracy

Also if you can spoof you ip by using TOR, proxy tunneling, or a VPN when you log into FST, they wont be able to associate your ip on the tracker with your account on FST.

I seriously doubt the staff here shares IPs with trackers, so just turn images off in your profile and be careful with the links you click. I suggested an image hoster whitelist to the staff here almost a year ago, but that was never implemented. :idunno:

It'll be difficult to get back into what.cd coz i hear they log everything and even if you get re-invited they'll shut down your account if you are not careful (by matching mac addresses or whatever)

Well, if you try to break another rule (one account per lifetime), it kind of makes sense to get banned if they find out.

another user here on FST informed what.cd staff of this giveaway, and I am absolutely sure of this. The first time I heard about this was from WhatMan pasting a link after he came across it while browsing around here.

I was told by tracker staff that I was "force-fed" the rules, yet was oblivious to themNot oblivious to, but purposefully dismissive of.

his deliberate post, which purpose was so the staff could say "we told you so! You were told the rules but you went ahead anyways!" when they identified me.What caa_ok (caaok) does around here has next to nothing to do with us. In fact, I hardly maintain any contact with him on what.cd whatsoever. I informed him after you left -disabled that you were going to try to get him banned here, just so he wasn't blindsided. But caaok is not some spy for hire here. He is a solid what.cd member and clearly enjoys the FST community; he knows the rules well and was simply trying to warn you.

trackers can accept a little bit of rule breaking
We don't accept rule breaking, but we are frequently forgiving. What we're not accepting of is people coming into our -disabled channel and feeding us BS:
< KRink> I am sorry I wouldn't have ever given an invite away if I knew I would get disabled.

At no point since starting your giveaway thread had you exemplified someone who deserved a second chance. As such, you were not given one. That's all there is to it.

KFlint

I seriously doubt the staff here shares IPs with trackers

Indeed, don't know why people keep thinking that we potentially share IPs with trackers, we just don't. You can't, on one side, allow people to giveaway invites in public and trade and on the other hand pass info of those who do to trackers. And that even applies to scammers and sellers, some might say we should in that case but that's the way it goes here...

I had KRink's rant passed on to me by his PMs.
It basically says the same as here, pointing the finger to ca_aok, and my reply pretty much was everything that was written here before.

As I had the opportunity to tell him, it saddens me someone was willing to ask for his account to be deleted at FST (which we NEVER do) in order to keep his account at what.cd. It also saddens me to see FST described as a "trading-minded board", which I would adjective as narrow-minded, in lack of a more suitable expression.

It's pretty obvious ca_aok had nothing to do with this matter, he didn't snitch a thing or went grabbing IPs or info like that, which is something that would cost him, as he is aware of.

So, unfortunately, that's how this ended up. Good intentions are not always compatible with tracker's wishes, that's life.
